How do I increase the difficulty mid game?
Started on explorer but would like to play the next one up. I can't find a place to increase the difficulty. Would appreciate help. Thanks.

Stop playing every game on the easiest difficulty like a pleb and you wont have this issue.

Not a nice thing to say to a stranger, Bakinda.

What he's trying to say is that you have to challenge your self in order to become better instead of playing a strategy game at the easiest difficulty! A modern CRPG at that too!

Ignore the elitist yazholes, I perfectly understand playing a game on easy the first time, why should only the full time gamers get to enjoy games? Try this mod, you can apparently adjust the levels of monsters even further once you're in the game, so it should fit your needs.

Monster scaling wont change the terrible AI, you need to be on tact for that.

Frankly I didn't intend to play on easy. I normally play on normal. Played Divinity 1 on normal. Played Witcher 3 on normal, Wasteland 2 on normal and many others - but for Divinity 2 I got confused when starting this one as there is no manual and there were/are a lot of things that I don't understand about how to do things.

Notiwthstanding what I intended, it is still not a nice thing to say to someone where you don't know their circumstances. And certainly not someone who was actually trying to increase the difficulty, NOT decrease the difficulty.

I am a little 'ol lady and have probably been supporting the game industry for longer than most here and being ridiculed for a question is just not ok.

How much have you played if it is less then 10 hours I suggest restart, since you know what to do now you can catch your current place like in 2-3 hours which is nothing for a long game like this.

Unfortunately it is way more than 10 hours and I (at this point) don't like the game that much.

Possibly would like it more if I found the mechanics easier to follow. Didn't have this trouble with Divinity OS 1 at all. Probably should stop now. Play something else and come back to it later from the beginning. I didn't build the characters right so it is not much fun, even on easy.

So you've played a ton of games like this, started on a difficult for children or first time gamers AND didnt build your toons right.. no wonder youre not having fun.

Played a ton of games like this and never started on easy before. Got confused with this one. Built characters wrong. When I kickstarted the game I was told that a manual/guide was included but the 7 page manual did not answer my questions at all.

Not criticizing the game. Just the fact that the lack of manual created problems for me .

Yep - you are right. no wonder this has become a slog. Still I was willing to up the difficulty level and see how that fit. Shame you can only go down in difficulty not up.

Funnily enough, had no trouble with Witcher 3 and was truly sorry when the game was over.

Hey.
Options -> Gameplay -> Set Difficulity
You can switch between classic and explorer mode.

Thanks Core One but I don't have that as an option, apparently, because I started on Explorer. If you start on classic you can go back and forth but not the other way around.

I don't have a choice under Gameplay for difficulty.
