I wasn't much of a fan of the first game, but this one is better in just about every way - better story, better characters, better roleplaying, and - in my opinion - better combat.
You get up to 7 cool Origin Stories that play the Maiun Story all differently, and you can also just create a characters. Spells, Magic, Sorcery, WITCH!
Please, if you are not sure, you could also buy the one Prior to this, in its Definitive Form. Cheaper, and still excellent and follows the same formula. Could possibly help you choose, if this one is up your alley or not.
PS - Lohse, and THE RED LIZARD, are the best. IMO. Best interactions.
What other RPG has THIS in it??

I have, in the past, referred to this as the "Witcher 3 of isometric games", like W3 it set a new bar for its genre.
EXACTLY!
No. The second one barely has anything to do with the first one, and the common themes are explained in the second one.
I pretty much stick with games under 20 USD, waiting for sales, that sort of thing lol
Honestly, thank you all for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I think I'm just going to buy it, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I guess my last question would be, is it as fun with a controller? Currently I don't have a place to use a mouse and keyboard effectively, but I've seen other discussions about how good it still is with a controller, so I'm doubting it'll be a problem
Well it has Controller Setups, and I have never heard anyone say its bad. With the new edition coming out they fully revamped it for better use on the couch.
As with your concern about controller use; I recently moved and do not have everything set up for me to use mouse+keyboard, so I’m hooked up to my tv using a controller, and it works perfectly fine.
Isometric - turn-based RPG with amazing story telling and exploration. You really can’t go wrong.
