Personally she's my favorite because she just has a better personality than most of the others.
EDIT: and she's also cool because the scene in act 4 with her and malady is amazing.
No her story is not good there is no exposition as to why she even has a story. Just I have demons in my head. Oh really ok here is this this, and this....with out any creation of the why and the what.
Also there is no ending to what is really going on. They tried though and I think most people will enjoy it.
I thought her character was annoying and ugly, with silly personality and speach. Right Chief.
Also there is no chemistry and attraction created in anything she does or says. Song was stupid too.
But that's just my opinion a million people could absolutely Love her!
To be fair, no explanation is given for why any character was chosen. Ifan is chose by the gods becuase.....he used to be kinda somewhat close with the divine? Beast is chosen by his god becuase his cousin is a queen? Aside from Sebile, none of them really stick out for WHY they get chosen. It's a world of fantasy, magic, and monsters, so I don't see being too big a stretch for some people (a lot later on actually) to have demons or spirits trying to get in their heads.
Compare to Jahan's story of why he is trying to find the most poweful magic in Divnity Original Sin Enhanced.
As you play the game and get to know Jahan as he reveals more and more of his past. His why's and what's are answered and even come to a decisive ending.
Of course even Jahan's story could have been fleshed out more in that game.
but I kinda like that lohse is a random, she's not chosen by a god (ok, well she is, but still) she's posessed by a demon because she's a mystic, and the demon even says multiple times that if she doesn't cooperate he'll just go find a new meat suit.
Idk, Fane makes about as much sense as his uhh, familiy member, for lack of being spoilery (I'm new and don't know how to use that black out bar) and he/she/it wasn't picked. Like he was ignored for who knows how long, and the gods didn't give a crap about him while he was locked up. But yeah, I see what you're saying.
I figured Lohse got the thing in her head because she's a famous performer and was able to reach out to a lot of people, thus spreading its influence, while not being a big political figure like the queen or RedPrince, so the thing in her head wouldn't draw unwanted attention.
I am sorry guys but you are making up assumptions on why a certain thing is because it isn't explained as exposition.
"It makes sence that Lohse has demons in her head becasue she is a musician...."
There is nothing in the game that explains about the Demons. There supposed to be against the God King.
There is no explansion or story driven prelude to create a scenario where Lohse is singled out for Demons. Malady knows something but it's not expanded...In fact Malady Story is never expanded.
Maybe in an expansion or third game Larian will up the ante on Story development.
