Recommend lone wolf builds?
Recently installed this again used to play it with friends, but we never made it off tutorial island due to constantly restarting lol.

I want a really fun OP build for my first playthrough, any recommendations?

Pretty much anything. Lone wolf is pretty OP such that you’ll struggle to do it wrong.

That said, archers are very powerful all game long and they pair great with any mage.

I'm looking mainly for a mage build and I want to play solo without any party members. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SQDdzQs-UA looking at this video so far

Solo comes with its own risks and shenanigans, but if you pick three main elements to work with, Geo, Hydro and Aero/Pyro, you should be pretty strong. Dabble a little in other skills for abilities like adrenaline, tactical retreat and the like and you’d be pretty well off. Use a shield for that extra durability and play Fane or an elf for the best racial/origin ability. Then just blast your way through everything.

Never played solo myself, I’d find it more tedious than challenging. However, it’s hard to go wrong when using lone wolf.

I'm on my 1st proper play through with a lone wolf duo. (Same as you i kept restarting)
I have a custom 2h physical with necro, poly and warfare.
And Fane as a wand/shield 4 element mage.
As it's my 1st proper play through I thought it would be good to play with lots if skills.
I was on explorer but had to turn the difficulty up and haven't come accross any major challenges so far.

Any of the lone wolf Lost Sinner (Sin Tee) builds.......look under Guides tab.

I just did some mixing with my party and went with party of:
1) Summoner + Archery + Scounderl + Air - in that order. - Phy. dmg with 50%+ crit chance
2) Pyro + Geo + water (water for some buffs/heals only) - wand (switching between poison and fire wand from time to time) + shield

I first shot fire arrow and then summon my incarnate on that to get fire dmg, and buff him like there's no tomorrow. And then spam all kinds of arrows. Then pyroboy brings hell to earth.

After that it's mostly enemies dying from necrofire all over the place while being slow, knocked down or cripled XD

It was really weird build, but fun. Just had to make sure I had at least 2-3 position escapes per character per fight, like teleport, swap etc..

If I may add, I'm gonna try with 2 paladins.
1) - Warfare + Hydro + Geo
2) Warfare + Hydro + Air

Looks insanely fun

Fun builds? Well, I like explosions. Pyro + stuff is pretty fun for me. I did a Fane solo lone wolf pyro only tactician. Was fun for me. Except the enemies with 80% fire resist so I had to respec and/or get a few non pyro skills to deal with those.

Might be, but without using skills like Venom Coating or Sparking swings, you'll be looking at a low magic damage output to use those magic skills without INT investment. Even with lone wolf, splitting between STR and INT isn't wise. You'll be dealing about the same damage as a pair of non-lone wolves. If that is fine for you, then go ahead. Just making mention of it so you're aware.

To echo the poster aleee above, I just got done with a Lone Wolf Fane + Red Prince double Pyro + stuff team, mostly centered around everything Pyro + Thunderstorm during Apotheosis (Thunderstorm pairs wonderfully well with Pyro for many reasons) and it ripped through everything.

Just to give an example of how strong Pyro is late game...

SPOILERS AHEAD

...I managed to wipe the entire room out in the final fight (Lucian, Dallis, Braccus, Silent Monk Gareth lol, Gheist, Eternal angel thing, random Divine Order archer) with only Fane, using only Time Warp (no cooldown resets, no green tea leaves) on his first turn

Afterward, I respecced Aero (including new weapons, runes, the whole 9) and I managed to beat the same room with Aero, but ONLY when I used both green tea leaves + cooldown reset + time warp, and I couldn't burst kill Braccus and Dallis instantly (even with Closed Circuit) so it procced the Kraken fight. With Pyro you can deal such massive burst with Mass Deploy Traps that you can kill Dallis and Braccus at the same time, skipping the second act of the fight.

Pyro with green tea leaves, cooldown reset, and time warp is utter overkill, and I've been able to intentionally enable act 2 and kill literally every single character (all characters in the original Lucian room, plus all of Bracccus' summoned bosses + Braccus himself) with green tea + CD reset

And just for perspective, a full Aero + stuff mage is stronger than an Archer + stuff character late game, and an Aero + stuff mage can only eek by soloing Lucian room (with full CD reset + green tea leaves + Time Warp) which leaves it mostly exhausted for act 2 (kraken fight) which it can't avoid. And the reason I'm comparing Pyro to Aero is because Aero is the second-best solo element.

This is to say that all those numerous buffs to Pyro over the last few years really add up.

But if I, for some sad reason, couldn't play Lone Wolf as Pyro... my runner-up choice would be a Geo with Aero support. Has enough CC to grind out damage, plus the two best non-buildaround 3 Source in Thunderstorm and Pyroclastic.

------------------------------

All that said, if magic isn't your cup of tea, I'd recommend either a Rogue or an Archer. Rogues are basically single target specialists, and can do silly things to a mark late game, while Archers start good, stay good, and end good. You can't really go wrong with either, although nothing compares to an intelligently built and played Wizard/Battlemage-type character late game.
