storage chest on ship

So I just left fort joy island, on the ship there are lots of chests and one specifically labeled storage chest. Is there something special about that one? I've not yet sung to the ship or fought Dallis If I put stuff in a chest or specifically the storage chest, will it stay till we "arrive"? What about all the stuff in the bodies, chests, etc on the ship, will that stuff stay too or should I loot before singing . Just looking for the mechanics of storage from when you first get on ship till later.

Once you reach Act 2 proper you get a new option to send stuff to The Lady Vengeance from your inventory, that chest is where the stuff you send ends up.

Having said that, I'm unsure if stuff you put in prior to Act 2 will remain when you arrive in Act 2.

You can store whatever you want there and access it later. Theres a guy I got as a merchant that stands opposite the chest so its convenient. Things stored in one act stay in the next act. BUT... you cant use them while adventuring. If you have a quest note in the storage, you will not be giving it to the quest npc as if it were in your inventory. For example to get the phoenix egg to hatch you have to have it in your inventory in the end scene not in the storage chest

You can put things ANYWHERE on the Lady and they will stay there. I spend some time decorating my rooms :P

Edit: Not sure if you store stuff prior to Act 2 though.

ok well to test it for future playthroughs, I stuck a couple of things in the storage chest before singing to the ship When we finally got back to the ship from Hall of Echos, the items were still in the chest and it appears all "containers" were left how they were. All the items that lie around the ship outside of containers I had picked up before and now they all seemed to respawn so I can loot them a second time.
