You combined a source book with a non source book. you need to combine two non source books.

I combined necro and pyro. Now i found out by chance its just a question of luck what comes out. I tried again with the same combination and got the resultat. Confusing.

There is only one outcome per combination, here's a table: https://divinityoriginalsin2.wiki.fextralife.com/Crafted+Skills

To make 'Mass Corpse Explosion' you must have used either a Source Pyro Skillbook (e.g. 'Summon Fire Slug') or a Source Necro Skillbook (e.g. 'Black Shroud') when you crafted it.

However, the quest "An Existential Crisis" will drop a 'Mass Corpse Explosion' skillbook on the ground, so that may have confused you.

I got it by combining the two skillbooks (pyr + necro). Are there different skillbooks for one category eg pyro? I know there are different spells. But different in general?

You may have noticed that some of the icons for skillbooks have a blue glow around them, these books are for 'Source Skills', because they require at least 1 Source Point to cast.

To use a couple of Pyrokinetic skill(books) as examples:
"Fireball" is a Pyrokinetic Skill, it doesn't cost any source points to cast, and the icon of the book used to learn it does not have a blue glow.

"Summon Fire Slug" is a Pyrokinetic Source Skill. It costs 1 Source Point to cast, and the icon for its book does have a blue glow.

If we were to combine each of these skills with "Mosquito Swarm", a Necromancy Skill, the results would be different:
"Fireball" + "Mosquito Swarm" = "Corpse Explosion" a Pyro/Necro Skill. It doesn't cost a Source Point to cast, and its skillbook does not glow.

"Summon Fire Slug" + "Mosquito Swarm" = "Mass Corpse Explosion" a Pyro/Necro Source Skill. It costs 1 Source Point to cast, and its book glows.

To summarise (and possibly oversimplify):
Book + Book = New Book
Book + Glowing Book = New Glowing book
