Otherwise ya you would need a 2nd account.
Iirc steam family sharing don't let two accounts play the same game at the same time.
No, but it would avoid the problem of having games split between 2 accounts, if D:OS 2 was purchased on a new account to be able to play LAN co-op.
on a standard install follow the route
program files -> Steam ->Steamapps -> Common -> Divinity Original Sin 2 -> DefEd -> Bin
then click on the EoCApp.exe with or without steam on and it'll boot up, through this you can LAN connect to those on the same router or run multiple instances off the same PC via direct joining.
Confirmed this works. Logged into steam on Desktop, logged out of Steam on laptop. Played Co-op on 2 computers with one copy of the game.
Thanks Lethan!
Want to add that this still works in 2023. Thanks guys.
You have the "remote play togheter" too! You stream the game via web and invite your steam friends and play with split screen, just like being in the couch
Also when I click execute it asks me to select a program to open the file eocapp.exe
