I tried a custom female dwarf, very dull. This game is all about story and dialog.
Sebille has a better romance (Lohse's romance is generally just "press flirt till she likes you back" like Mass Effect).
I mostly meant because of the definition of unique. If that character is the same in everyones game, they are not unique. If you build your own character, the backstory and everything is unique. No one else can have the same character and backstory as one you created (99% of the time). I prefer if im given the story/background of a character as well, but I dont see how its unique i guess.
I just think its a poor choice of wording is all. Maybe interesting is a better word than unique? they are both equally (un)unique to me because they are always the same at the beginning for everyone every time
You are comparing a character that you pretend to be, with characters you watch or read about. Those are 2 different concepts. Would you consider picking a pre-generated character in a DnD campaign to be unique? Or is generating your own character and backstory more unique?
And in fact a game character is always more unique then a read/watched one as you can do things with them and have them be what you want and imagine things with them a lot more etc... where as say a movie your watching a actor/actress play out 1 role (won't get into how most movies/tv shows etc... are aweful and just all doing same thing and playing often same role they did in other movies or playing out evil cowboy because he has black hat) and no matter how many times you watch the movie they are going to do same thing 100% (except for deleted scenes and the like of course) and you can't imagine as much for them outside of simple things and fan fiction.
(also wont get into how movies these days are just horrible "sequels" / Remakes / SJWified which by definition are not really all that unique)
But ya getting close to getting off topic of OP, again her story is really interesting (as op pointed out) with demon and most people like her story as a player to fully expereince it as your missing out more on it as her just being a companion along with the coolness of her being a bard which is very rare.
The game responds more and gives more options to an origin character compared to a custom one.
You create your backstory yourself and act as if you are the person you created. Thats how I play custom character RPGs at least. You can still experience the companions stories. Its irrelevant because im sure the OP made their choice by now
And would hope he did, we just helping you out along with people that read what you say.
And ya nothing wrong with playing how you want, but the word unique is wrong and interesting is even further. The best word would be *immersive* (which I don't think your dorky enough for that word to be accurate with your other posts you have had) otherwise it just your personal preference.
Also you can roleplay a character however you want even a pre-set one nothing forces you to choose what they would say as who they are it just adds that choice (which most games don't even do that so co-dose to them for having it).
The best character in the game is by far Fane. Fane with Apotheosis is IMBA as hell!
