How important is constitution?
Is the stat really important or is it better to go damage? Best defence is the best offense?

You should only really invest in constitution if you intend to equip a shield. And, if you are, only invest in as much as you need to equip the shield.

Reason being is that once your armour is gone you're likely to just get CCed until you're dead (unless you restore said armour), regardless of how much constitution you have.

CON isn't very important, and I'm speaking as someone who often loses all armor in a fight and starts taking actual damage.

What's more important, memory or str/dex/int?

The second one. You only take enough memory for important skills. Mages take a few extra, but by level 9 you want only around 14-17 (so 4-7 points) as you get a free slot every odd level.

You can take it early to memorise the skills you want and then respec to move it to something else as you gain more slots from level ups.

As said, only invest the con you need to use a shield if that character is going to use them. And keep in mind elves using flesh sacrifice will drop your con, and potentially drop the shield, so while I'd advise not using a shield on elves, if you do, make sure to add con over the shield's requirement equal to your con loss from FS.

I like memory for flexibility, especially for a lone wolf playthrough, so keep a lot of it.

Depends on the build. If you're going lone wolf though, dex/int/str is capped as early as level 8, and definitely by 10. So you have plenty of wiggle room regardless of which way you prioritize

You get one free Memory slot every even-numbered level.

STR/DEX/INT is more important. Memory is useful, but it is most useful in the early game, when you don't have many of the free slots. As the amount of free slots increases, the less you need to invest in Memory.

In addition, in the early game, you have fewer skills, which means cooldowns matter more, which is another reason Memory is good, to give you more skills so you have things to use when your other skills are on cooldown.

Depend how you gonna build you character. I create my character tanker mage+summon, Puts constitution on early game so she doesn't getting killed easily. Now lvl 17 she is scary as f***. No enemy can down her easily especially enemy mages. With high magic amor and high constitution and could cast magic armor skill, might as well just forget it. Lol

Depends. I did give her memory and int. Now has more 20 slot to cast. She is deadly as f*** :steamhappy:

It depends on what your doing. If your playing on honor mode you will want your tank to have a high CON because your tank will be pulling then delaying, and you will have some pretty high HP/armor checks. Some fights even without being able to pull+delay. But you also have potions to buff the hell out of your tank before you pull

i like 3 movement spells and 2-3 healing spells on each of my characters. seem to get by just fine

also on the higher difficulties you're probably looking for max dmg max cc as opposed to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of survivability.

Possibly irrelevant, but something i learned quite late on is the stats are very literal in divinity. My first cleric build had high int on the assumption it would aid healing. LSS it dosen't, i switched to a tanky con build
