Mac version simply won't start?
I pressed play on steam and the little window poped up with all the things I should know about mac version (using F1 and F2 key, mac mouse etc.) As soon as I pressed start. The games goes into full screen and start a loading screen. After about 10 seconds when the loading bar below the screen filled up, the game just crashed without any reason, nor error code.

Anyone have any idea about this?

I read something about using AVX while googling. I have no idea what that means or what I can do with this AVX thing even after a brief research. I am usually not very bright with computer stuff though.

This seems to be a known issue for mac for at least 5 month already, but I don't see any solution solving this problem. If anyone has any idea of it, it will be really helpful. Thanks.

I just downloaded Divinity 2 for Mac and I do have the same issues. Are there any minimum requirements in terms of hardware to run it it? Shouldn't be crashing on load, right?

Ah - followed the AVX hint and found this: http://csharpmulticore.blogspot.com/2014/12/how-to-check-intel-avx2-support-on-mac-os-x-haswell.html

Essentially it says: enter the following line into your terminal:
sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.leaf7_features

If it doesn't spit out AVX2 in the response you might have a Mac older than this type of CPU. Mine is a Mid 2010 Powerbook Pro and therefore doesn't run this.

Would have been nice though to be either tested on install or when trying to run it - rather than getting a huge error message that says nothing.

I am not really smart with computer, where should I key in that line? I never know there is terminal available on mac. I already refunded the game since I didn't got any answer earlier, but I am having a blast with the first Divinity Original Sin now. I will probably buy it again to try it in the future when it is on sale.

even if it spit out AVX2, what should I do next to make the game work??

The huge error message are pretty useless and bad designed indeed. I feel like making things easy to access is never their strong suit though... just look at the UI, key binds and inventory for divinity original sin 1.

I doubt it would work though. On the system requirement for steam it stated "early 2015 macbook pro" while I am having late 2015 macbook pro.
