But you can escape ( effectively ) as quickly as you gather your wits and either solid snake out, teleport, or the most effective method : Kill your way out.
Unless cheating, you'll dump 6-10 hours in Fort joy and double that for the next half of Act 1. Whilst there's not a massive amount to do, it takes time to do properly. The lower the setting, the faster it should take.
But, what should I be doing? I am trying to free the Elf from the Kitchen Boss Griff. I read before that there are multiple ways to escape, what are they? Help greatly appreciated :)
Level 2/3
Crocodiles =/= frogs in cave ( in either order )
Level 3/4
Dungeons Kniles should be last. Withermore after Slugs / Houndmaster.
Judge and Cork fights can be done before if you choose topside assault.
Depending on path choice, you can jump out of the fort by level 3 ( Corodiles ) or fight out and be level 5 or 6. Typically I reach 6 and fight Dallis for a weapon she drops.
I freed Elf from Kitchen Boss Griff
I beat Arena under Kitchen Area in Fort Joy
Killed Frogs in Elf area(?)
Found secret tunnel on beach, but need a shovel- where can I get one?
Further help appreciated :)
Some NPC's sell or drop Shovels.
The Bridge between Red Prince and Fane ( Broken one ) that has a Fireplace / bedroll and crate also has a shovel on it ( On the way from the beach spawn, towards fort )
1. Help said elf and find a hatch near where magister Migo is. (need digging)
2. Barge through the front door (not recommended).
3. Sneak along the dock (need teleport)
4. Go through the locked door near an out of reach ladder of the castle (Must help magister Yarrow first. Don't kill Migo). You will have to sneak through the court room though
5. Discover a button on the waypoint statue. it will reveal a hatch leading to the prison section. (Play hide and seek with the kid, and then talk to the petrified knight. Need digging to access the room with said knight)
6. At the path that need teleport, there will be a hole that will drop you straight into prison.
7. Literally get yourself arrested, break out, and then proceed through the prison.
If you go through the prison, it will lead to another area. In this, there will be two available escape.
1. Help Han with the harassing magisters
or
2. Help Trice open the sewage hatch.
Once that is done, you are finally out of Fort Joy.
Hi again guys. I found a way into Fort Joy, went through tunnel under Waypoint Statue and am in the Prison section of FJ. I killed some Magisters that were near another dead Magister, they had no key to door to upper level(?) of FJ. I then went through Fire Slug area, but that exit took me back to the Beach. What should I do? The door I need to go through is locked :p
Further help is greatly appreciated :)
Thank you for the info. I am in the Prison section and there is a door that is locked that I think leads to next section of FJ. I am really stuck I think... Any help appreciated :)
dont sweat it, just cruise around and check stuff out, you will figure it out
Anyway, I have a few quick questions:
1. I still have the Source Collar on my Character. When/how do I get it removed? Does that happen after Fort Joy area?
2. While I was in Fort Joy and Beach area, I had 2 companions, but I dismissed them. Can I get more companions later throughout game?
Thoughts and help greatly appreciated :)
The source collars do come off but figuring it out is part of the fun. I will say that your main character's collar comes off a bit earlier than the others. Fort Joy is for prisoners so you can guess somewhat for that timeline.
If you dismiss your companions before escaping Fort Joy, they go back to where ypu found them, I think. After you escape, when you dismiss companions they hang out at a fort not far from Fort Joy.
Again, trying not to spoil anything, there does come a point where the official companions cannot be brought back to the group if you have dismissed them. You can hire henchmen later if you need to.
