Gift Bag 2 - achievements
Hey, so as far as I know, playing with mods disables achievements. Now what about 'official mods' from the Gift Bag? Do they also disable achievements?

Yes
So, they´re already useless?
Ha, nice update. Not.

achievments don't matter to a ton of people, but ya they are using mods so they disable them.

How does that make them useless? Mods have always turned off achievement.

I mean, I have never really used mods for D:OS before, and I spent like around 300 hours for D:OS 1 and 450 hours for D:OS 2, however, I don't care about achievements at all. Tried several of those modes yesterday and they really changed my experience a lot:
- running 45% faster - I mean, this one is just huge, cause running was always more like walking in this game...
- understanding animals for free - at last you can spend those precious talent points on something really useful in combat;
- re-spec mirror in Fort Joy - this one is also quite a good thing for novice players and for everyone who doesn't like how useless are initial talents of your party members (like Arrow Recovery).

The name "gift" bag make many people think its a real gift. But its somehow a little bit poisoned. First of all these mods are not new and everyone can activate them on their own (no need to include them and call this on top a gift). And as HardLimiter says. If you want achievements these mods are useless.

Does the achievement enabler found on the nexus work with these 'addons'? I've been using in in conjunction with mods and have been getting most achievements, but haven't tried it with the addons.

It isn't poisoned. It's a mod.

Well, yes if you want achievements then by definition any mod is 'useless'. That's how it works. It would be daft to allow achievements with mods. This patch is simply no different.

I've never understood paid any interest to achievments and like the sprint. Although I wish they'd made it 25% faster. My guys (especially Beast) looks like something out of a black and white comedy as they run like maniacs. I also think that sprint should be a simple toggle and not a 'spell' that you have to cast.
Mind you I can do Fort Joy in 45% percent of the time it took me before, and when doing multiple playthroughs or an early wipe in honour, it's welcomed.

Would you guys consider using the Respecc Fort Joy mirror, 'cheating' or not?
Anyone using the crafting Mod?

When i installed achievment enabler those mods stopped working but were still flagged as enabled

Were you using the nexus version? I've noticed that any version I found on the workshop didn't work, even before the gift bag update.

Achievements still work with the nexus achivement mod. I've just gotten a few with mods and gift bag addons enabled and working.

I'm kinda unhappy the Larian Mods disable achievements (although I understand the balance issue). I.. sort of wish there was warning about it (popup, or in the menu, etc).
It would be kinda lame to, for example, turn on the garden mod, be unable to disable it, then lose your achievement for a playthrough, especially if doing 'ironman'.

The mods in gift bag 2 warn you about disabling achievements after checking the boxes and clicking accept. It gives you one last chance to back out. It's the same warning that you get when you try first try to activate mods installed from elsewhere.
There is a mod on nexus that allows you to get achievements despite having mods activated but I am not certain that it works with the new gift bag mods. The mod removed the warning for regular mods but not for the Larian mods. I can't tell if it will still work despite the warning because it hasn't been updated since before gift bag 2.
I think I've earned a lot of the easier achievements (2 runs, tactician and all origin stories done) so it's hard for me to test.

My Buddy and I had a mirror on the ship prior to having the mods enabled and you can use that one almost all the time, having another mirror is simply less restriction so no, it's not cheating.

We're only using the petpal, running and max AP mod so idk about the crafting, makes it a little too complicated having even more crafting recipes for my taste. Crafting was always secondary to us in dos but if you want more recipes go ahead, your game, your rules, ignore what others say it's supposed to be fun for you.
