lost sebille needle, is it needed for optional or main quests?

was maining lohrse, had no idea this thing was supposed to be in sebille's inventory till way after fort joy and i don't see in inventory. did i need it for any sebille quests?

I don't know what happens if you lose it. There is quite a lot of story that involved the needle.
but it's not as if a quest requires you have the needle.

oops I just remembered a spot where the needle was part of the story quest. I wonder what your game will be like with out the needle at that spot.

I believe that you need it for her companion quest objective.
(If you don't care about her approval rating then I suppose you could skip it but it's a great fight (better than most) w/XP and loot, likely needed)
There are a few things in the game you can lose and it creates all kinds of problems - if not a broken game -- so one has to be careful with them. Once you get the ship you can store important things there.

crap, i loaded up one of my earliest saves and then looked on youtube, looks like i never even picked the dang thing up to begin with, it was on some ship debris i didn't search.

I did all of Sebille's quests love story blaaa. I was the Red Prince why in the world am I romancing damn Psycho Elf...that...

wait I can't spoil anything for you guys if haven't gotten that far. There was only two places where the Needle came up I doubt very much your game is ruined by not having the needle.

i play with sebille...and she never had a needle in her posession and when I do her quest objectives she still sticks her needle into the people shes questioning

Same. Have zero clue how you could “lose her needle.” In hundreds of hours with Sebille i’ve never had a needle to lose.

What about The Shadow Prince or does the game just pull one out of thin air? I know it's part of the dialog choices -- on how to deal with him, (unsure what a seperate answer does as far as approval/completion) such I thought she needed it, but who knows.

The "needle" is actually in Sebille's "phantom" inventory, very much like her underwear.

Just because you can't sell her underwear, does not mean she isn't wearing them.

I have played more than 200 hours with her as a companion and I dont even recall she having any sort of needle. But I do see her poking most people she wants to question.

And also, if it helps, I also saw her in the nude.

Um, OK - TMI maybe but Sebille with no undies doesn't surprise me.
Still, she doesn't question the aforementioned spoiler dude above, she simply wants him dead.
But if she has a phantom inventory then that is probably how it rolls. I have more ingame time but didn't care about her character enough to notice that much. Buy the girls some undies for Christosake.

That’s a tattoo needle not sebilles needle which she uses regularly

Sebille uses the Needle for two quests. Your not far enough in to get these quests yet. They are part of her story arch.
