Void Worm at the end?
Is this crazy strong void drill-worm necessary to kill to progress? I can't really see anywhere else to go, but this thing does like 300 damage per hit and just tunnels if I try to get distance and is immune to every type of cc...

Killing it is the necessary path to progression. Unfortunately, there's no where else to go after killing it. It IS possible to kill; i've done it twice. (one play through, just screwed up a save and had to do it again).

At least, that's what happened for me. Doing the rest of 'the stuff' after beating it up progresses you straight to the Main Menu, last I checked.

You can avoid it altogether by not using source powers in the "final" battle (where you fight all the people by the shore). Also, early access ends shortly after defeating it.

It will bleed and freeze and get poisoned and will burn. I've killed it 6 times already.

@ Chmeva. Really? I.. never used any, at all, and I was forced into confrontation.

Oh... then maybe I got a glitch or it was changed... I've only done it once and did it soon after the early access release, some things might have changed.

When the worm appears is random; sometimes early in combat and sometimes after the
Bishop and his goons are dead. He could have been delayed enough that you left the area before he showed.

I was 2 manning him with my buddy (I was doing about 80% of the damage) and we got it to 300 hp and then it just did something that 1 shot killed both of us. It was a little ridiculous to say the least. I'll try him again.

Sadly, I thought we might get a new Talent at 8, to give us a boost for 2 manning, but it didn't, so we messed up there lol.

Just tried it again and it was actually really easy lol. He did end up killing my buddy again, with his cone attack from full hp and like 200 physical/100 magical armor, but I ressed him up and he went down pretty quick.

He has 585 hp

I've played through twice. Second time I tried solo stalker, beat it at level 8 after a few retries. Here's an advice, do remeber the cd of the enemy's skill, and take protective measures in advance. Like the Giant worm spurts cursed oil every 3 rounds(may not exactly cuz I didn't play recently ), and 1 rounds earlier you should have your vital team member blessed(will greatly reduce cursed-damage taken).

I actually haven't tried a rogue, but I probably will eventually. I've gotten too attached to my control mage build. I just run a mixture of armors and a shield. Ended up with 13 spell slots for spells, about 250-275 of both physical and magical armor, 450 HP or so and a bonus of I think 9% to spell damage? Was running at least 1 or 2 spells from each school.

Bow Rogues - 1 or maybe at worst 2 shot skill it...

stealth = OP as **** for damage

can hit for more than its health in a single hit if you gear right or even remotely non ineptly...

2 hits if you gear and skill absurdly badly

Yeah, the stealth mechanic for damage has always been pretty crazy for the Divinity series. It's amazing for single target, but can get sketchy against groups if you don't play it right by doing a hit and run tactic.
