Sword from cave Act III (very minor spoilers)
This sword seems pretty terrible and it's 4 guardians however are quite powerful.

Am I missing something? This sword wouldn't even have been that good in the later/mid half of Act II. It even sells for a very low amount.

Eternal Stormsword to be precise.

It has +memory and +initiative. I don't think it's meant to actually be swung. I had it on a caster that had a shield anyway.

I guess that is a little decent.. At this rate I don't personally see much benefit in a little more memory. Still seems a bit underwhelming considering what you have to deal with to get it though and where you get it.

You can use ranged combat all the way from the cave entrance, the guardians shouldn't even reach you before they die. It's basically free xp.

It is by far the best caster weapon which gives 3 memory and 6 initiative ( which sucks due to game design ) specially if you want to go crit caster since it has 20% critical chance .Pair that with the skill which converts all your crit to spell crit and you are golden.

And if you are brave enough use a wand instead of shield on offhand with crit chance and you can easily stack above 50 crit which get really strong later on. But all this only if you go crit caster else its meh.

late to the party, but two comments:
1. You can also stand at the entrance and teleport the guardians to you 1 by 1
2. It seems to be a reference to the famous fantasy sword Stormbring owned by Elric of Melniboné. It's a pretty famous fantasy series from long ago.

Stormbringer.

As I recall the sword was pretty evil.

I made this thread 6 years ago. It was never about having trouble with the guardians, but the reward being perhaps a little lackluster compared to the effort to get it.

It's pretty great for a crit caster build, which I would have said six years ago if I had been here.

Exactly, it is good as caster sword with it's +15% crit chance
