How to kill mother tree?

So, basically on Nameless Isle I killed Shadow Prince and freed Sebille. Looted everythin and carried on. Then I found this Mother Tree - trusted the elves from driftwood and became Sebille became new Mother tree (sounded like right thing to do despite some dude on Bloodmoon island tolling the tree is evil). When I came out of the lair - Saheila told I must free elves and kill Mother tree despite I'm already rooted. So went in back for the kill, killed the scion guarding the tree along with all those spawns yet Mother Tree seems invulnerable.


So how do I kill that tree. Googled smth about using death fog grenade (supposedly found on Shadow Prince - which wasn't the case) - so I feel like smth got bugged?? Tried everything at disposal on Nemeless Isle and nothing works.

I have the death fog box, but the shadow prince is dead, and when i talk to his spirit he syas KILL THE TREE, but does not give me an option to blow up the box. Second, Sebille is dead and did not make it off the nameless isle except in spirit on the ship. I dotn think i can complete it.

I think you need her in your party to kill the tree without the death fog bomb.

I know Im late but I had the exact same problem. Thing is the dialogue option that appears in the tree seems like you are helping it, but worry not, you are not.
After killing the scion and her dryad guards and after being asked by Sahelia to kill the tree on your way out, you just go back to the tree heart and simply pick the first dialogue option [This is the mother tree and blah blah]. Sebille will proceed to wither everything and kill it. Hope this helps someone in the future.

If anyone is still interested the answer is simple. If you have killed the Shadow Prince beforehand and want to kill the mother tree having Sebille is mandatory. If you don't have sebille there really shouldn't be a reason to kill the Shadow Prince first anyway. after killing the scion and dryads leave the heart at which point the blind elf from fort joy who you must also help in reavers coast will come and tell you to go back and kill the mother tree. And Voila then you can touch and kill the heart. Or just dont kill the shadow prince first by detaching sebille from the party while speaking to him.
