Please help. I need a healer, not sure which class.
I have a conjurer, rogue, battlemage, ranger in my core party. I haven't found all the companions yet, but I feel like I don't have any way to heal besides potions. When I do find the other companions, I want one of them to have fairly strong healing abilities. What are my choices?

Thanks for advice. Trying to wrap my head around this wonderful and deep game.

The "classes" are just loadouts. Any Intelligence-based build with Hydrosophist will do.

The actual classes 'conjuror, rogue, battlemage, ranger' really dont mean anything (besides starting items on the boat). In order to become a healer all you need is points invested into hydrosophist and the books learned

Necromancy as well though it is more situational, Hydrosophist have the standard direct healing. I think Huntsman has a heal too...

Don't waste time with a primary healer. Just have all of them learn restoration/soul-bound/first aid, fortify, and frost armor. Use food and potions for more healing instead. If you can kill or stun the opponent before he strikes that is best way to negate damage.

Remember that death is best CC.

Int doesn't matter for healing/armor restoration. Ideally, you want Hydro and Geo so you can restore both armor types as they are the better type of HP.

Hydrosophist will give you most of the party healing skills.

Thx all. Very helpful responses. I didn't realize it would be so simple to just simply add a point in the desired skill category. Thought that would mess up my build.

Carry a bedroll on your action bar. Huge full party heal when not fighting. Still using it at the end of the game to save burning characters as soon as a fight ends.

I only mention it because it wasn't already mentioned.

all spells that heal vitality are boosted by hydrophist and your character's level. and that's it. just put a hydro and geo point in all your party members then everyone gets fortify, frost armor, and restoration. easy heals. even with only 4 geomancer fortify gives me 568 armor on my level 16 character. which is a good chunk considering my max armor is ~1250

Also keep in mind, magic armor is almost entirely restored from hydro (and a little necro)

Physical armor, although best is using Geo, can be restored with Warfare/Necro/Poly fairly well.

put hydro points on your summoner. When you summon incarnate in water, it'll have healing spell, to assist in heals if you need it. Later on you can spell craft for Ice incarnate which has 2 heals. (though i used blood incarnate because i had physical dmg heavy team, its nice to have the extra heals just in case)

Later on after chapter 2 when you're on the boat you can respec your team and if need be, craft skill books for any corrections you need to make, or just buy them.

The Hunstman skill (Ranger) has First Aid.

Since it hasn't been mentioned, you can also use the bless skill on water, fire and blood to create healing surfaces. It works well in the Fort Joy area, but by the time you get to Reaper's Coast there's so much curse stuff, you can't rely on it.

As others have mentioned, keeping armor up is more important. Not just because it prevents CC, but there are a lot of decay effects in the game which cause healing magic to hurt you instead if your armor goes down.
