Where to find Mortar and Pestle?

It seems the game yet again care so little about its crafting system. I can't find anyone that sells this and I haven't found it in any loot. (Still in Act 1, level 8)

Why this isn't one of the things that the game ensures that you find and pickup easily like Bedrolls?

Can't tell you a spot to pick one up exactly, but they are usually laying on tables and desks.

I've been making sure to spam press ALT everywhere I go. I didn't find a single one.

Look around places where it'd make sense to find one, such as laboratories. There might be one in Kniles' area, or maybe in the elf cave. I don't remember where I got mine but I am sure there were at least a few.

I found my first one in act 2, so dont be surprised if there isnt even any in act 1. As i am quite the hoarder im sure i wouldve found one in act 1

I didn't find one until act II. Have you tried trading with random peasants? Sometimes they have junk on them like a wooden spoon. (why you'd bother adding that in the game when it serves no purpose IDK but it's there)

If you want to download the crafting mod from the workshop you should be able to craft one. A week after release a modder improves crafting beyond what the devs were capable or willing to do.

It seems to make some actual use for all the useless junk that litters some areas.

You can find one at Meizer Siva's(sp?) lab. The place where you do the ritual to talk to your god.

no idea if it was just random luck, but i managed to steal Mortar nad Pestle from Baladir, a guy in act 1, in Fort Joy Getto, the one talking to a lizard next to a coffin

Zillik the Dwarf in the Dungeon under the fort sold me one for 10 gold.

You can get one on the Tutorial Ship, just right when you get out of the hatch.

You can find this at ACT 1, Exter sells this, what do you need this for?

You need it for crafting certain potions, arrows, scrolls, and runes.
