Is there a strategy for pick pocketing the merchants in Driftwood?
I've tried to position my other 3 party members, and have them speak to the people walking around. This doesn't work because there are too many people in the market area.

I have tried teleporting the merchant that I want to PP, but then they just aggro and fight me. I have also used Nether Swap, same result as teleporting.

My current sneak level on my thief character is 2.

If anyone has any advice/tips/tricks to pick pocket these people, it would be greatly appreciated!

Invisibility potions, or the Polymorphs Chameleon skill? I know I often use either of the two when I need to lockpick a door that people are watching.

Would just use chameleon cloak, it's just 1 point in poly if no one is using it lol

Have one character distract the roaming Magister. One TP, another at the TP location to talk to the merch as soon as it lands, and the pickpocket. Try to keep the TP character away from the rest of the NPCs.

doesn't work with invisibility, already tried it

Yup, invisibility will not work.

What? That's dumb, it should, bad enough they make it so paintings are worthless, and you're gold starved forever. But we can't even steal skillbooks in driftwood, the best act in the game. That's just silly...

Have an undead, remove a piece of armor while magister isnt around and there you have it: an isloted merchant.

That aggro's the whole town though.

I also teleported them. Have one character engage them in conversation, then switch to your thief and pick away.

You must be sneaking while invisible, and very very quick.

It seems it's basically impossible to pick pocket in this area without at least someone getting aggro'd. DAMN all those amazing skill books!!

Anyone roaming who may interrupt you can be engaged in conversation by party members also

No. Only magisters attack you, normies just run.
