Buffs and scaling
Maybe this is a silly question, but cant find it anywhere...

Does increasing ranks in skills increase the amount a buff gives?

I.e. a higher geo casts a bettery fortify?

Or once you get that spell, you can safely ignore putting more points into its school?

Cheeers

currently not in game, but if you hover over the skill (like geo) it should state that it increases armor buffs and earth related damage by X% ... or something along those lines :P

The skill description should explain it. Ranks in Geomancy and Hydro increase both damage and armor/healing.

However, it also scales with level, and I think that's the most important factor. At low levels you can pump those skills all you want and barely see anything. At higher levels it becomes noticeable.

Cmiiw : 5% more armor / earth damage each point spent in geo.

It stats in the combat ability description, you can see it when you hover your mouse on themes. Yes, high rank of geomancer does increase the amount of amour Fortify gives, so does your hero level.

Sorry, should have been clearer... gave a bad example... thanks for replies!

So geo increases armour regain from all sources, as hydro increases health gain from all sources, which incidentally increases those buffs... but leveling geo - would also increase, say, Poly's Heart of Steel? Does leveling up pyro increase the Clear Mind spell?

Or does extra fire ranks do nothing for fire buffs, etc?

You know what? I don't know. Reading the Geomancy description does say it increases *any* armor healing you do, but I had always just assumed heart of steel was only level dependant. I 'll have to put it on my Geomancer and find out.

Pyromancy only increases fire damage.

Great, cheers. :) I assumed as much, but had to check... so buffs dont go up with points invested in their schools exactly... but geo increases all armor gain like hydro increases health gain... I assume from all sources, will have to check... (shields up, heart of steel, etc)
