Btw, Red Prince, Lohse and Ifan are the three most involving companions. Red Prince's presence goes so far as changing at least one npc into someone else more important.
Fane kinda broadens your knowledges but he doesnt really drag you deep in his life like the above three. Sebille and Beast barely has any presence, in comparison.
Can't say I've found beast and Sebille to have 'no presence' - but I've nothing to compare against. Beast is actully one of my favourite Party members.
Lohse & Sebille certainly have their moments ( often bat**** crazy ones!). Ifan I like (hence I chose him as my main!). The red prince / and Fane just didn't appeal to me at all and I couldn't see myself travelling with them for an extended period. Just a matter of taste.
At the end of the day it's designed to be enjoyable with any combination of the origin characters - so pick a party on the personalities that appeal to you most and I'm pretty sure you'll have a blast.
Apparently Red Prince really grows on you. I hated him from first impression as well but according to other posters here, it seems that he's a great guy deep down when we learn more about him in his quests.
Beast is a fun companion because he has events with most other dwarves but he seems to have no personal quest or it's bugged from the Fort Joy prison. You'd think he is more important than that because of his political rival, the queen of dwarves but nah ... On the other hand, Sebille has a personal quest but it seems to have been made from Ifan's. Most of her quest points are the same with Ifan but less involving because she's a very personal person.
Hmmm. Looks like I'll be having a second playthrough with the prince in the future so!
Still can't agree on Beast though..I'm quite a way forward in his quest line (more than any of the others - Driftwood in particular was a big area for him). Sebille - well..I'm aware there's points of cross over with Ifan - but I'll have to develop her line a bit further to see if I enjoy it beyond the potential for in-party conflict! Lohse. There is definatley some interesting questing ahead there as yet for me. All in all though - couldn't be happier. But I will be trying out a run with the Prince and even Fane in the future!
My next playthrough will probably be with ifan, sebille, lohse and red prince.
