Chat for controller support

I'm playing with some friends with discord, but one of them don't have mic and for some reason the in-game chat don't even show up for reading when using a controller. What is that about? I'm using a steam controller which would give me free control to a keyboard, but there is no keybind to bring up the chat (even if I use the real keyboard).
So please give us a way to chat with controllers too.

I'm not asking to reinvent the wheel, the game already have a chat. but for some reason they hide it when you use a controller

What really iiratates me right now is people kicking those who don't respond in chat to a roll call, I would if chat worked with controllers, thus my anger.

they will kick anyway. since the chat is hidden and we cant even read what people are typing @-@

You have 2 options.

1. Play with mouse and keyboard.
2. Chat on discord.


Possible 3rd option: Make the Steam controller act like a mouse/keyboard and not a controller. Bind buttons to it.

The way this game works, is the controller and m/k have very different UI, and you can't switch between them without going back to the main menu.

yep. thus I'm here calling for atention. So the developers can see and at least give us the option to read chat

I'm using an xbox elite controller....not a steam controller

+ we need a lot of QoL changes like that. For example font in m+k is blurred.

DOS 1 had this same issue. im puzzled as to why it never got fixed even in the sequel lol. i made multiple posts on steam forums asking about this and no one responded to any of them (on the original). i guess the only answer is PS4 master race
