kinda of hard to ♥♥♥♥ a tree that's how you get splinters after all.

SPOILERS BELOW
YOU ASKED FOR THOSE

-Letting her become whole with the mother tree will give you +3 memory perk.

-Have her remain as she is will force a fight with everybody in the area + 3 driads. You will be given the option to then kill the mother tree. The blind elf Saheila will apear out of nowhere and will ask you to kill the mother, implain that this is for the best of your people and that the mother is a ♥♥♥♥♥(using other elfs lives to live forever).

Personaly Sebile character is of an elf who freed herself from slavery. I don't belive she would have choose the 1st one.
In the end it does nothing to the game future changes but to decide what do you need more:
- 3 memory
- loot and exp from a lot of dead people.

Yeah its not letting me kill her. Saheila is not showing after i killed everyone.

For me Saheila apeared after i talked with prime scion and left the heart. She asked me to kill the mother tree. So i went back.
The only way to do that is to let Sebille to interact with the tree. And to do that you need to force atack ptime scion. After killing her, a pack of totems and 3 dryads you can do just that.
Be warned though, that pretty much everyone in elven temple will be hostile to you after that ( bar Alexander and his party ). They are a bunch of hobos thougs, nothing dificult.

Huh weird. Sahelia showed up and asked m to kill the Mother tree soon as I exited and got the quest to kill The Master.

That is pretty much how the quest should normaly work. But scripts are kinda wonky in certain places in the game. Still need a lot of polish.

RPG-wise:
I've grown very attached to all my characters, Sebille is definitely one of them. As a result, since her backstory is all about breaking away from shackles, it didn't make sense for her to subjugate herself into all that responsibility. I'd just killed the Master, she's free. Why turn her unfree?

Gameplay-wise:
Saying "yes" gives you a talent called "Rooted" which is +3 memory. You can then proceed to kill everyone (attack the elf scion) and get the same amount of exp/loot than if you said no.

Regardless of your decision to be the mother tree, Sahelia's offer/quest for you to kill the CURRENT mother tree/heart still stands, to which you can do.

What I did was accept to be the mother tree, then killed the current tree, then killed the rest of the game, getting best of all three worlds lol.

I know this is an old thread but this decision is the hardest I had to make so far. The tree is dying anyway and once Sebille becomes Mother Tree she can change things. True she ran away from this responsibility already because she wanted her freedom, but she won't even have to become the Mother Tree until she dies so she will have freedom. I tried both routes and reloaded back. KIlling the tree leads to everyone in the area becoming hostile including some good characters, plus I read Saheila goes all war hungry in the next Act. So maybe it is better for Sebille to accept the responsibility and keep her people in check - it's not what she originally wanted but it's not as selfish. She actually seemed okay with it. But also if you kill the tree and talk to her she seemed okay with that too, so I just don't know.

I don't care about the EXP and loot for killing everything cause I'm already way OP on Classic difficulty. Maybe next playthrough on honor mode where I need every scrap of exp I'll go the other other route.

And story wise, if you accept to be rooted and then kill the tree, I doubt she would become the tree later on. That's it; the tree is dead.

Becoming Mother doesn't have anything to do with "rebeling breaking free" bs. Just because a boy like playing dolls when he was young mean he must become a gay when he grows up. You call that freedom? Enough with the
persona hypocrisy. The choice is not about freedom or slavery, it is about taking the responsibility or selfishly run awayfrom the problem. At the very least she wont become a slave. And sebille doesnt have to immediately die to be rooted, she already said that only when she grows old and die (which takes a long long time for an elf lifetime) only then she roots and instead if becoming another big tree she becomes the mother of all elves and take freedom in leading her nation towards goodness, instead of raging war like the old mother.
Freedom is invaluable, but when you use your freedom to submit others to your ideals, or run away from your responsibility, suddenly freedom has a price and it is more or less selfishness.
