How to beat lamenting abomination?

He has 1400 HP and my characters have between 490 and 615 HP, and i got him down to 200 HP,but all of a sudden, he gained 1000 hp back. Do i have to kill the wolves he summons first? I could've beaten him, but he went back to almost full health, so do i have to kill his wolves first?

I didn't find this one too hard. I froze him and then hit him several times and he died. I didn't even know the wolves were recharging him as I burned most of them.

If you have an undead character, drag a poison bulb up there and set it at his feet. afk for a bit and come back to find him dead

There's a really easy way to do this. All you need is one poison arrow. Get up on the embankment overlooking the lamenting abomination and the altar. Do not trigger an interaction. Just let him stand there. Without hitting it, shoot a poison arrow near its feet and let him soak up the poison. He just stands there and dies from the poison. Get your stuff and move on.
