I could teleport the skilbook merchant far away enough for him not to know who did it (towards the beach next to the eastern gate). The other two i made sure i teleported him to my persuasion character to tell them it wasnt me.

i usually use a character to talk with the target. and use other char. to pickpocket him.
you could press shift to see their "vision"

kill a few in the center square and then use the necromancy spell "Totem's of the Necromancer" you will summon an army of totems which quickly kills off the enemies

most of the characters are either in a secluded location, or will occasionally move to one if they're walking around.

Like real pick-pocketing, you need to hit them, grab what you want, and move out of the area before they notice somethings missing. Or have a high persuasion character, and talk your way out of any trouble.

1) level sneaking
2) talk to the mechant with one character, then while hes in dialogue teleport him into a secluded zone, he'll be stuck there while you pick pocket him.

Best way to steal in driftwood is, you get 1 char with the teleport skill, and one thief, you teleport the vendor to a location where there is no npc's close by and talk as fast as you can to the vendor you teleported with the caster.

Then you got all the time in the world to steal every bit you can.

Each vendor can be teleported to a *safe* location

Thanks; I tried everything, and this is the only thing that worked.

I know it's an old thread, but I am sure there are folks who are having trouble, so...

While I realize this is an old thread, I'm sure a lot of people are having issues here still. Open diaglogue and trading with target to get an idea of what you're going to steal. Then smoke grenade them at point blank and pick pocket as fast as you can. Onlookers don't matter at all.

Eveen with thievery and sneaking at 5 + invsibility spell, NPC's can still find you, which makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense.

The bets method is to simply teleport everyone somewhere, because even if oyu kill a trader he wont have identical items which makes even less sense.

I can imagine. At level 9, one of my guys had 4 Thievery and 4 Sneaking, and I tried Invisibility Potions, and it still didn't work. Teleporting is the only thing that worked, and it still only works like 1 out of 5 times.

the guards are not allied with the townspeople.. just kill them and you have a bunch less and the villagers still like you

I just did that. Do any of the Magisters and Silent whatevers patrolling the town essential quest givers? I killed 4. 2 Magisters and 2 Silent whatevers.

Also, I had to trigger this several times, as sometimes the shoppers help the Magisters, and I don't want to kill them as well.

The only relevant one is the guy in the barracks and this other dude who got his ass teleported.
