How to get to the sallow man without killing alexander

I'm at his cave but the altar is asking for blood. How do i find this guy and take the energy thing I need for the academy door

You put the helmet on and use the spell it gives you near the altar.

You can just kill Alexander, take his stuff, enter the cave, kill everyone there. No problem. Also, Alex gives you the hood whether you side with him or not. You could just steal it, too. Or ignore this altogether and find your own way into the academy.

I was thinking, Ive accepted helping Alexander but in the same time telling Ifan than we would use him, soo he should hold up to killing him right now. Because Ifan punched him in the face and all it was pretty nice hehe.

is it possible , to finish the quest of Alexander first, get his reward + XP, and just after turning the quest, provoking a fight to kill him and his crew in the same time updating the quest with Ifan ?
Because i tried to kill him just after he gave us the quest and the helm but in the journal nothing updated for Ifan just an update about " finally we didnt help alexander.

because in a RP pov i dont like black ring neither the magisters and I really like to destroy them, soo im just hoping they ont disapper after turning his quest.

you can also toss a teleport pyramid onto the other side of the wall and then navigate through the unloaded zone until it loads in. not exactly intended, but.....
