Mage with shield, just some thought
I feel like mage without shield just too weak, enemies can easily one shot kill my mage.
And I just thought, I don't need to invest any point on Necromancy, I just put 1 point on warfare, and mage can use shield to deal physical damage, since bouncing shield damage only base on armor point and requirement is really low (until end game you just need constitution 14 to wear shield ).
Now my one weapon shield tank only use shield to deal damage, basically one hand sword is kinda useless.

yeah, I have a mage with shield. Just grab a wand isntead of staff

Since the wand scale damage from Ability points, I just feel that no need to put in points on one hand or dual hand or anything else.

That's actually a pretty damn good idea to use shield throw with a mage haha. Doesn't really fit with the character though.

Staves are clearly underpowered, shield is a much better idea since it provides a lot of defense and sometimes great stats as well.

Yeah, two handed are all underpowered just in the virtue of extra stats on equipments

Yeah, someone said that staves roughly are 50% more powerful than wands, which doesn't make sense, they should have double the power, or even more, because otherwise you're losing gem slots.

1 handed weapons should be limited to 1 gem slot, armours to 2, rings to 1, and 2 handed weapons to 2.

2 handed physical are not underpowered though, they hit like truck, same as crossbow.

Crossbow vs bow, the crossbow always wins, that -1 movement means absolutely nothing since you'll be using jump anyway.

Well, you can get extra crit chance on wands, and not on shields, but that's about it.
Banana Sep 24, 2017 @ 4:59am
I think you just need to use magic to deal crit, shield just extra physical damage. Honestly unless you put a loooooooot of points on necromancy and int, your necro phsyical magic damage just very damn low, plus cooldown time... i rather just use shield, high damage and low cool down time, until my magic cooldown time over.

Enemies can esily one-shot kill your mage with a shield? Then you're doing it wrong and not giving him enough defense overall. Shield won't help much if the rest is crap.

I usually outfit my summoner with a shield and he's nigh unkillable.
Euphytose Sep 24, 2017 @ 5:11am
It may be a bit too easy for non melee classes to equip shield :/ It really gives a lot of defense.
The Badman Sep 24, 2017 @ 5:15am
I think shield should only give defense through the raise shield skill. Not simply adding into yours
Banana Sep 24, 2017 @ 5:16am
"Enemy one shot kill my mage without shield"
When with shield, they suddenly became so hard to get kill.

That's even worse with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ armor system. You're gonna get stunlocked to hell and back if the enemy focuses and it wasn't your turn yet.
