1440p FPS locked at 30

Hi, just curious if someone can shed some light. I have a 4K monitor, with SLI 970.

4K doesnt run butter smooth, so im trying to lower the resoltuion to 1440p. but with vsync on it caps at 30 fps. Without it I get screen tearing.

Any techies have any ideas?

Also happens on Overwatch actually, I can play 4K at 60 fps, but 1440 is locked at 30.

Like there is no actual option in the settings for 1440x(60*)

It may be that your Monitor is connected via HDMI 1.4 which caps at 30 fps for resolutions over fullhd

I can get the 60fps option though on 4K

I noticed among monitors that dont run their native resolution the refresh rate isnt always the highest it can go, test other games and see if you have the same issue.

Yup this is more likely a monitor issue
