I managed to get the paladins to aggro and kill 2 of the revenants. Neither respawned even with necrofire all around. I decided to tornado the final room’s necrofire, and bless the last revenant before killing it and he stayed dead.
When you walk into the paladin village there are tons of bodies you can use source vampirism on too.
I had 5 teleportation scrolls. Everytime one died i teleported the spirit up on the ledge where no fire was available, and they died off. Took a few minutes.
As enemies, they're not tough at all. They can be CC'ed and dropped to zero health pretty easy. It's the respawning that is a pain to deal with.
Bless is the key here, so make sure your whole part is full of Source. A couple Source Orbs help (I had 9 but ended up using none).
So we know they respawn from the Necrofire and nothing else. Okay, let's work with that.
First, Bless is huge here to remove the surfaces from the rooms they're in. When they turn invulnerable for a single turn, to respawn, they will float a long way across a floor (and down stairs) to find Necrofire. But if the nearest Necrofire is blocked, they die after that turn. If they can't find any Necrofire, they die.
You can block doorways with objects or even a level 10 Summons (because they're phat like that).
Use oil flasks (or any big Oil spell or Scroll) to get Necrofires to join up, then Bless it, and cast Rain or use Rain scrolls to put out the remaining fire. The Revenants WILL shoot cursed flame arrows at you and turn any existing flaming surfaces into Necrofire, so you want to use the Rain spells to clear the area after you've Blessed it. You'll probably have to cast Bless 4-5 times in the first open room (and it's connected area upstairs) before you get it all.
The second room, behind the locked door, can be cleared in 2-3 Bless casts depending on how well you can get all the Oil connected. When you first get that door open, just have one character inch their way barely inside the room, throw some oil, and Bless. You'll get a lot of sources eliminated before that second fight even starts.
Don't forget to Bless the flaming giant doors at the entryway.
So in short: Oil to join Cursed Surfaces, Bless to turn it to regular Fire, Rain to put it out, and keep the Revenants CC'd so they can't shoot their cursed fire arrows.
limited ? there are douzens of dead people near the gates XD
I've found that cursed steam works
I discovered it by accident, freeze the necrofire and it should create cursed steam
