How do you kill Cursed Revenants?
For some luck, I managed to kill the first two in the Lizard Consulate in Arx. But the next three just keeps spawning infinitely. I've tried blessing the whole room to get rid of necrofire, but the damn things just wont die. Are they bugged or something?

Yea they do respawn in necrofire. You might notice they respwn next to a wall. You also might notice if you zoom into the wall you will find a patch of necrofire. It's bugged, just skip them.. major time waster.

I guess. Considering how scarce Source is in Arx, I'm not gonna waste them blessing patches of necrofire. It's just so tedious.

i mean you could always use source vampirism and get as much source as you need? Or does that not work in act 3?
Uottafac 23/set./2017 às 23:55
What i noticed is that after you put out all of the Necrofire they don't die right away. You might need to kill some more than once.

@Smokey

You can, but there is a very limited amount of bodies and enemies to drain source from.

So here's what it took for me to stop the Revenant respawn. Tornado from the Aerothurge tree is your friend to avoid wasting source. I had Sebille set up as an archer with aerothurge and she was able to tactical retreat while avoiding line of sight to get rid of as much necrofire as possible. The tornado entering their line of sight doesn't set off a battle. I would get rid of all the necro fire, or as much as I could around a revenant, then kill it to force it to spawn in another necro fire area in the building which temporarily ended the fight. If you are running into an issue with the glitched wall, watch closely where they spawn from it and position one of your characters at that spot to prevent them from respawning there. Also, if one of them is on that glitched spot having just respawned, it will prevent the others from respawning there as well. If you just want them out of the way, kill them all onto a necro fire you left that allows you to move around them easy and then retreat from the fight or methodically remove all necro fire with tornado and saving bless for the few times they drop a cursed fire arrow. They don't create more necro fire on their death and they seem to use normal fire arrows mostly to spread the already existing necro fire around. Hopefully this fight will be fixed in the future but, if you're like me and just have to find a way to kill them, that's how I managed to do it

it took me approximately 4 hours to clear that building.

i had my 1-2 of my guys constantly cycling back to the city to refill source. at one point the civilians got involved and were killed by a revenant who spawned outside. some dude who worked in that building decided to help by throwing fireballs at the revenants and electrocuting my party, yet when i caught him in friendly fire from a misclicked shield throw, he turned on us...then he warned us.

so far arx has made it abundantly clear walking through doors uninvited is not encouraged

Pro tip: Ignore them.

Lockpick the doors or steal the keys, and sneak past all of them. They aren't worth fighting.

Good luck in the next area. It's arguably worse.

Not sure what you mean, There is a never ending source fountain in arx where you can fill your source for free. The fountain is in Linder Kemms secret vault

Just pull them out of the building, netherswap/teleport them into the square next to the large voidwoken and kill them, tedious but took me about 3 minutes to kill one after the elementalist teleported it out there and they killed it for me

I've finished one off with Winter Blast and it smashed it to pieces thus not respawning anymore. I guess if you shatter them or blow them up they die for good.

There's another method which helps to clear some of the necrofire of the non-combat variety.

Aero 1 + Poly 1 = Vaporize
Aero 2 = Pressure Spike

If you Vaporize a patch of Necrofire, it turns into a cloud of cursed fire. Use Pressure Spike on the cloud and it turns back into Necrofire - BUT its duration has changed from infinite to 2 turns. That can be used to clear out a LOT of the Necrofire before you get close enough to the revenants for combat to start.

That said, it doesn't work well in combat for the reason that you need to wait for cooldowns. In combat you need to use Tornado (Aero 3) or Bless + [Fire Removing thing]. There is a unique staff in Arx which has Tornado on it.

If you have any grenades which create non-flammable blessed surfaces, you could also try using those to clear cursed fire patches.

I beat them with a little planning. 3 of my 4 party members have teleport. I spaced out the party in a visual sight line - each party member had line of sight to the next party member. The last party member was by the door to the street, with the first moving as close to the revenant as possible. This will start the fight. You will get hit, but your party members should easily take the hit. If you teleport the cursed revenant down the line from party member to party member and then out into the street by the fountain, you can attack them normally and they die and stay dead. Much easier than trying to put out necrofire or using lots of source with Bless. Once in the street, everyone around the area joins the fight

oh boy what are you?? just use oil so every flame touch the other.. then just bless and all is gone.. kill the lizard, take hr source.. you even have 3lizardbodies per revenant, not that you would need that much
