I mean the game basically shows you that this guy is innocent and didn't really know what he is doing. So consuming him could be considered "evil".
The game basically tries to make the decision harder, but then again it seems like it's the only way to solve the quest.
Ignorance doesn't really excuse murder, imo. "Oh that elf culture is just mumbo jumbo. Don't believe it sonny."
Well, must have sounded extremely absurd. I mean I could tell you that the potato you are eating is a suffering being and you should plant it to the ground so it can keep it's wisdom. Guess you'd eat it anyways. ^^
And hopefully nobody will consume your spirit for that. :P
Oh come ON, on this planet it's just us. In the game there's so much variety in races and magic is a thing.
You'd have to be an ignorant fool to not listen to certain things.
Furthermore chickens are also self aware beings, as most other animals are. They even have spirits. So killing and eating them would be equally as bad as "killing" some tree.
The world of divinity is a complicated one. :P
Well, probably just one which doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you think about it. But thats something for a different discussion. ^^
