Creative solution to Gawin quest *spoilers*
So I took the gloves and Ported him to the tree stump like you are supposed to. Then, I pickpocketed all of his stuff then ported him to the other ledge. From the other side, rather than advancing the quest he asked to search my stuff because he was robbed. I refused to give it back and he started combat with me. He started off the fight be teleporting me across the ledge to him (Success!).

I tried to reproduce the result but he generally prefers throwing you down to the bottom of the sand. Hope for that sweet RNG

XD that is a good one. Gotta try

The guy is murdered by magisters in the dock anyway ( you find his body there after you kill them)

If you kill the magisters before you teleport him he gets murdered by the undead in the swamp. I wonder if it's possible to keep him alive.

Playing with it a little more, when he throws you to the sand + if you keep him in combat and sustain the shock damage he keeps tossing every turn-- Eventually his teleport comes back off cooldown and he threw me face first into the magisters on the docks.

A very ugly and deadly, but successful way to escape prison

No, he's scripted to die. If you kill everything on the way, he'll eventually just drop dead on his own.

Yes he does. I choosed the boat escape, once arrived at the bridge where zaleska stands you can go to the fort aprocheing from the river over the docks, you ll see the magisters attacking him and when you rush in you can join the fight. I saved his butt this way but after the fight he starts running past the bridge and if you follow him those 4 skelleton warriors will stop you which you have to fight first, after that fight you can still see the red flag marker of garwin somewhere near the demon and there you can loot him. so better let him die anyways.

At least in classic, what happens is he runs off to the voidwoken fight in the middle of the island (the one with all the skeletons in it) and they murder him. If they're already dead then he just dies. This may have changed in DE.
