The easiest and absolute simplest method of defeating him even without countering his TRoll's blood is to use Terrain Transmutation and move some of the lave from down below to his left on his spot.

You can actually drag the Lava along with ya and insta kill any and all enemies in act 3 with it as long as u don't enter a cave etc.

This. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed. Made the fight with the big abomination at the clusterwoords real easy(playing on tactician). Took a while to drag the lava from the temple wiith source master to there though.

That's the difference armor make, even without doing this trick, its insanely easy to stunlock or knock down him, 3 turns was what it took to take his life from 16k to 2k.

You can actually use the lave to avoid going into combat as they do not see it as you attacking them however u still get the xp when they die.

note: the lave is right next to him all it takes is to move it up and below him in 1 turn as it instantly kills.

you can also teleport via gloves or the spell/scroll directly onto the lava

true but that leaves you with waiting a few seconds afterwards in order to teleport him back. but yea it works :)

the lava thing sounded too cheesy to myself but i discovered if i heal him that removed the troll blood and made him easy to kill....

It works just once. If I hit him, he immediately gets his Troll Blood back.

Not for me - one heal at start and he never gets his troll blood back; the icon around him is strange but he never heals... after the heal i put on him expires.

Grog seems very challenging till you realize he is a very physical opponent and has no magic armor. I almost took him down with just my lead char by casting evade prior to starting combat. All of his direct attacks miss and I keep him stunned with lighting while I strip his armor. Marg is actually even more easier than Grog.
