Mortal Blow Questions
Hey loving the game but im trying to find where i can get mortal blow?

Im also wondering how good it is? Ive seen some people say its rediculously OP and can do 2000+ damage with lvl7-8 daggers and seen others saying it does 400+ damage when base attack is 100.
The tool tip says it does 140% and im not sure if they were sneaking or backstabbing or had guerilla.

Im currently speccing a dual dagger dwarf and im rougly doing 100 damage on backstab with basic. Any idea how much that would do with mortal?
Also it costs 3 SP on wiki and i only have 1...how often can you use it? Does source regenerate?

Im currently just starting out on the second island. Thanks! :D

Considering it costs 3 sourcepoints, it's very underpowered.

Source does not regenerate, and you can't use mortal blow before you get "upgraded" to 3 source "slots". Besides as far as i remember you will not find mortal blow skill book before level 15 or something like that.

It's a single target nuke that requires a bit of setup to get the most out of it. But compared to other 3sp skills, this one pales in comparison unless you are dealing with a creature with a lot of health, and becomes a ♥♥♥♥♥ to kill at 20% hp

Have it but don’t use it often unless there is a bunch of peeps I need to get rid off and they aren’t hostile. Just sneak behind their tank and use it. But again 3 source points is a lot to waste

I initally thought Mortal Blow was a useless skill costing far too many source points. I have changed my mind having tried it out a bit.

If you use it from stealth it does massive damage and if you take guerilla it does insane damage. You can either use it by going into stealth before initiating combat and either sneaking up behind an enemy to pre-emptively strike them or by staying in stealth at combat initiation and switching to your rogue to sneak up on a target and hitting them during one of you other charcter's turns. You can also use it with Chameleon Cloak.

The damage appears to be base damage x 140% x 2 (if in stealth) x crit bonus (if in backstab quadrant) x 140% (if you have Guerilla and are in stealth), Chamelion Cloak counts as stealth, as does invis pot.

So if your base damage is say 200 and you have say 180% crit bonus, you attack from sleath inside the bacjstab quadrant and you have guerilla I beleive it works out at something like

200 x 1.4(Mortal Blow base) x 2 (Mortal Blow stealth bonus) x 1.8 (backstab crit bonus) x 1.4 (Guerilla bonus) = 1,411. Even without guerilla it still does close on 1000)

Although it costs 3 SP to do this it only costs 2AP so with adrenalin potentially giving you two more shots even the biggest, baddest monster is going to be a very dead monster very quick or at the very least isn't going hurt any of your team, ever.

This is the point of the skill - a pre-emptive strike from stealth or invisibility to quickly and cleanly remove a dangerous enemy from the equation in one turn without question. That can turn the tide of battle in your facour decisively, so it's deefinitely worth considering.

But you have to get all three source slots to use it of course.

But its worth it, as a lone wolf rogue I have stabbed for like 10K damage in ARX (near end game) to kill one pesky kid (but wasn't enough to finish him off).

You can do that. You could also just attack twice normally for the same damage and no sourcepoint. Mortal blow simply can't compare against even 1 sp skills like Chain Lightning and even less against Arrow Storm, Thunderstorm or Pyroclastic Infusion.

Mortal Blow is the single strongest stealth innitiate skill in the game at level 22 I am able to crit upwards to 14-15k with Guerilla on Tatician without Lone Wolf.
That is enough to break Lord Kremms armour and take him to 60% in one shot.. this will kill about 100% of all none bosses in one shot.. arguably making Mortal Blow the most dangerous skill in PvE and PvP for the game.
Edit: 60% on Kremm

one and a half years too late to the party but... with pyroclastic erution (another 3sp source skill) i oneshotted lord kemm at lvl 18, alone with most of the entire enemy team. Without prebuff, without highground, without stealth, without guerilla, without lone wolf, without death wish, basically just walked straight up, punched a random pally in the face to turn them hostile, and then "erupted".
