Rank the Origin's companions from best to worst.
Feel free to elaborate. :)

I can't say much yet, because I've barely clocked in any playing time and I'm still trying decide whom to take along. Hence this thread.

Ifan for dayysssssssssss.
Then Lohse.
Sebille.
Fane.
Red Prince.
Beast.

To be fair, though, Beast is the one I know the least about, as I haven't had him in my party and have hardly spoken with him. I'm currently playing as Ifan and love how connected he is with the plot (I hate self-inserts, as they are seldom connected to the main plot at all).
Fane (Always my first choice. His story is the best of all the companions imo, and very connected to Rivellon's history and what is happening in the game. His story will explain so much of the stuff that's going on, without him I would've had no idea about a couple rather vital things that made me refrain from trusting a particular person, and probably saved my ass a couple times. He might be a bit annoying at first, but trust me, it gets better.)

Ifan (Second-most connected to the main plot (I think?) and just overall an interesting character who can become close friends with the main player character (unlike Miss Edge and Mister Arrogant over there, ahem))

Red Prince/Lohse/Sebille (haven't had Sebille in my party, but her story seems rather interesting, and I heard she loses her ♥♥♥♥♥♥, edgy attitude somewhat the longer she's in your party. Red Prince's story takes a while to really pick up, but then he becomes interesting, and his attitude can be quite hilarious. Everyone's gushing over Lohse's story, so I thought I'd include her as third choice, even though I didn't find it particularily interesting so far.)

Beast (Not really my cup of tea, tbh. He's a nice guy, but I didn't find his story that interesting, maybe partly because I'm not a big fan of dwarves and would never play one. Choose him if you must, but I wouldn't recommend it.)

Red Prince

Red Prince
If any of you played starcraft you would know this guy is strikingly similar to Alarak, the Charming Red a55hole-ish highlord/prince (its not the anoyying type but the lovable/witty type), and he is a lizard which actually makes him sync with his personality...to me atleast lol, and backstory is pretty cool ,he is a great character imo and the one i always make my main. Its always fun to rush up to a human that is currently bullying your fellow lizardmen and tell them how pethetic they are!

Ifan
Your generic badass cool dude, that isnt a bad thing however...he is the bro in your teammate that keeps things together, loving his gritty voice aswell

Sibille/Lohse/Fane
I havent finish their stories yet but know abit about it, i know sibille has some issues and that is why she acts abit ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at the start but starts to warm up to your rather cutely...

Lohse is your happy go lucky girl which i like...but with a certain twist to her...that well i want her on my team but im torn between her and fane

Fane...who doesnt want a skeleton mage on their team??? XD
Also i find him similar to Prince as they are both arrogant , except one is a lizard and the other is a skeleton from an ancient race, i like them both my i guess i just like lizardmen more lol

Beast
Well i might be abit biased here but i never really liked dwarves, dont get me wrong he seems like a nice character but would i rather choose a dwarf over a hot assasin elf girl or an undead overlord?
sorry beasty XD

I love the diversity of opinions here. Just goes to show Larian's talent for storytelling. For me though...

1) Lohse: amazingly cute and fun personality with a reeaally emotionally gripping quest.
2) Fane: HATED him at first, but I'm so glad I kept him in my first full-length playthrough. His link to the main story is spectacular.
3) Sebille: my one true main. I tried playing as not-Sebille once. This did not last long. I would probably like her a lot less if I wasn't dictating her story.
4) Ifan: *snore*
5) Beast: *louder snore with a hint of anti-dwarf racism*
6) Prince: The same kind of condescension that made me hate Fane at first but without any redemption. I killed his would-be lover and stole his would-be child with mask of the shapeshifter.
Its fascinating to hear you all talk about how Fane is so important to the plot. I haven't brought him along yet so I definitely will next play through when I make a summoner based character.

A really fun playthrough is to have a different race for every companion. It really adds to that whole element of the impending backstab for divinity, as everybody talks about how their chosen by their races god.

As a male custom human who is a polymorph based warrior, Ifan is fun to have around as a back up so you both can bro it up (soldier origin really beefed the rp for me). You and Ifan become legit Comrades who care about each other and its cool.

Red Prince is hilarious and definitely worth bringing along at some point. He's such a ♥♥♥♥ its great.

I really love that Larian allowed you to set your companions class to whatever you liked, so you could just take whichever character you liked most and have them fulfil whatever role. It really prevents ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up party compositions like in other RPG's, where you might not have enough tanks because you play the rogue, or you double up on classes because you play the same class as one of the more interesting companions.

I wouldn't mind if they let you custom origin your whole party though, like in Neverwinter Nights 2 Storm of Zehyr. That was a great idea, because it let you have some fun playing around with RP and themed parties. Imagine playing a team of four dwarven brothers, trying to escape together only to be forced to eventually confront divinity. Or a skeleton gank crew. Play The Red Prince with his three man bodyguards/loyalists. Etc.
I think Fane, Red Prince and Lohse are the most interesting companions. At least from their personal story pov. I enjoyed their personality aswell.

Sebille was really great to play as (from story pov) but wasnt that interesting as a companion. She is also AWESOME with Red Prince. The two in group creates some very interesting situations at least if you play as on of them (coop play even better).

Beast and Ifan were pretty "neutral" and maybe a bit bland if you ask me. But even as such, I enjoyed them both as companions during one playthrough.

If I started a new party now I'd probably go with me playing as Fane and having Lohse, Prince and Sebille as party members. Or possibly Beast replacing Sebille.

If I had to play custom character, Id definately have Lohse, Fane and Prince.
