Source Vampirism on Shriekers?

Hey all - I'm trying to use the Source Vampirism spell on Shriekers in Blackpit. I have to get within about 5 meters to use the spell and the Shriekers kill me by that time. Did they nerf Source Vampirism? Or am I doing it wrong?

go in sneak mode behind them and then do it. Itll work.

just can't get in their aggro range, or you'll get ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The sneaking hasn't worked for me so far. Perhaps I'm not high level enough. Getting frustrating...

hold down shift if you are using a keyboard/mouse and you will see the red aggro radius light red is the threat area dark red is their actual line of sight
use sneak while you are behind them on wooden platform and creep up behind them use source vamp while in sneak dont leave it b4 hand

P.s-never sneak up from the front:P

I'm with you except that I'm approaching from "in front" of the shriekers where the dark red area is. I don't know of any way to come in from behind them.

you can use any ability that "teleports to get up on the dock from the right side of the building or use pyramids by throwing one up on the wooden ledge then warping to it, also any invisibility spell u can run past if quick

Ok I found a work-around.

Throw your teleportation pyramid into the light red area. Go into sneak mode first, then use teleport to the location of the pyramid you just threw. Remain in sneak mode until you are close enough to cast the spell.

yep np:P the pyramids came in really handy in the first one too so i like to keep them around
