The Ravisher
This is a ring similar to Migo's Ring however the method of obtaining is well... let's just say you get friendly with a succubus and the ring is a reward afterward... i guess i will leave details to your imagination.

The Ravisher is perhaps the best possible ring as it grants the ability "Dominate Mind" which comes in handy quite often.

Doesn't the succubus only kiss you? since she is in love with the other guy, she is one of the masters of source so she kiss you to help you.

The same thing with the spider, she kiss you and you get the Spider's kiss talent.

Dominate Mind is a summoner skill. Nothing special^^

This may be a silly question but why can my fighter who does not have any Summoner skill level equip the Ravisher?
In additon when they use the Dominate Mind skill on an NPC they just run away and a fight starts; is the skill not working and fizzling because of the Summoner requirement?

Skills on items are not dependant of the requirement to use the skill.

So does the ring just not work, is it a bug?
Firecam Oct 31, 2017 @ 4:09pm
The ring is fine, you can equip is with whoever you prefer. A skill on an item only need the item requirement, since it's a ring you need nothing beside your finger.

It just doesn't work though, "Charm a friend or foe" is how the flavour text reads. It defeats the object if the act of using the ring starts a fight you wanted to avoid by charning the character in question. I've not played a Summoner so I don't know how the skill is supposed to work, but triggering a fight because it had been used was not the first thought that came to mind.

Oh i see, you need to deplete the magic armor of the opponent first, it's a control spell.
I though you knew the spell, my bad.

The NPCs in Driftwood don't have magic or physical protection only a vitality stat. When I use it on them a fight just ensues.
Firecam Oct 31, 2017 @ 4:48pm
Maybe it's not preemtive and need to be used in actual battle. I've never use this ring myself so my statement is only based on the skill itself.
Firecam Oct 31, 2017 @ 5:34pm
Ok i managed to find a save where i still got the ring, tried it on ennemies in Act3 and it works as mentioned, deplete the enemy magical armor and use the skill from your toolbar.

OK so the flovour text is actually wrong and it is a combat only item that can only be targeted against enemies.
Its a pity, it could of actually been useful to bypass open conflicts with dooor guards or instances where NPCs were monitoring areas that prohibited sneaking.

I won't say it's wrong, it just give the skill from the summoning branch without investing in it.
It works like the spell itself, you simply possess the mind of someone to fight for you for 2 turns... for 3AP... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !

Now i can clearly see what you meant about the NPCs. In fact you had a good idea, it could have been real in this kind of RPG. In this one you have civil "skills" to interact with the world. It would have been kinda overpowered to charm a merchant and "forced" him to give you his stuff replacing 'thievery' or even being able to sell your wares at a better price, removing the utility of the 'bartering' civil skill.

You have 'persuasion' to avoid a potential bloodbath. It's still a good idea and may see the light of day in a game. You can potentially rollplay in the GameMaster mode, where rolling a dice is a thing.

Did the NPC have magic armor?

Edit: Nevermind most of the topic didn't load for me so that was addressed ages ago.
