Act 2 Quest All in the Family broken
When I first arrived at Reaper's Coast on the ship, I noticed Tarquin standing by the lifeboat, I went below decks to see if there was anything new down there and when I came back up he was missing. Didn't think much of it, but now well over a dozen hours later, I'm trying to figure out what to do with the two pieces of sword I found, and I looked it up and found that they were for a quest that Tarquin gives. So I went back to the ship and he was there, but only functions as a merchant and doesn't offer the quest. Then I checked near the graveyard where he is supposed to be, and he's not there either to offer the quest. Basically popping below decks before talking to him seems to have broken this quest, and it seems like it may have been a major quest.

Same here, and from what I've heard without spoiling, it has major repurcussions on the endgame. Wonderful!

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

I have the exact same issue and did the same thing as you, is this being addressed?

Really want to continue with the rest of my main game. I hope they fix this soon.

Had the same problem :/ so I looked it up in a walkthrough to see what the weapon pieces are all about.

apparently he's able to repair the blade and it's pretty much the best two-handed weapon in the game. guess I won't get that one now.

When you first arrive he and the paladin leave the ship to do their own thing. The paladin goes to the farm, and Tarquin goes to the graveyard. Unfortunantly there seems to be something triggering Tarquin to return to the ship after a while and you need to grab the quest before this happens. Unknown if its a bug or working as intendend.

Hopefully that is a bug. Locking players out of content for choosing to go to town first (which is normal) seems like bad design.

I wonder if its related to sending the kid for materials? Does Tarquin return when the kid returns? I might need to try that if I have an earlier save.

They've acknowledged it's a glitch.

For me I went into the ship to see if anything was new and when I came back out they were all gone, and when I left I did not see them leave and I thought nothing of it until 20 hrs later when I found the piece to the quest. I'm not sure if he was at the graveyard at first or not but it was no marker there that I noticed.

As soon as I left the ship, I rushed to the graveyard and Tarquin was in front of the gates. But if you take your time and do everything that is between the town and the graveyard, he doesn't ever appear at the graveyard when you reach there.

Ok so i followed a hunch and it seems accepting this quest removes the Gareth & Jonathan encounter and vice versa. When you first come to the paladin outpost save. Head to the Garteth location. See hes there. Then go to graveyard see Tarquin is there. complete either dialogue set other guy goes away.

This quest is still bugged. I have two pieces, Tarquin is on the ship and doesn't offer any quest progression options. He never appeared at the graveyard gates in my game.
