Endless battle Vicous Voidling won't take damage/die
In the Oil battle in the black pits there is an enemy Voidling who is a level 1 mob who spawns after you kill a center person.

This voidling seems to take no damage from anything and it's impossible to end to encounter until everything is dead.

I've tried restarting earlier saves to no avial.

Same problem happened to me, I can't progress after such a long battle...There is no way to make Gwydian Rince exit combat either, so its stuck forever...

I haven't gotten that far but can you teleport it into like lava or something similar.

I did find a solution, using various teleports I move the voidling really really far away so that I was able to get out of combat and the NPC you rescue was able to get out of combat. Not a pratical solution but that's how I got past this.

It may seem like there's an unlimited number of them but therre isn't. There are two (and only two) waves of voidwoken, the first are oil and get easily dealt with by setting the whole place on fire mainly. The second wave are fire voidwoken and they obviously get healed by the fire, so they are much more difficult, especially the big ones. Note the big ones appear slightly after the little ones in both waves, so you could call it four waves, but I count it as two.

The secret to dealing with them is they are suceptable to water and ice (as well as physical obviously and also air I beleive) so if you clear an area around the platform and ice it over, even better summon an Ice Incarnate if you do summoning as well, you can teleport some of the big nasty ones onto it and they won't last long. An ice incarnate in particular will make short work of those big fire voidwoken. Freeeze them, electrocute them.

The little ones are a nuisance jumping up all the time but they are also easy to kill physically, I suggest saving the water/air stuff for the big ones.

The best way to approach this battle is from the top platform, you can take the whole party up there before talking with the head magister, Johnathon, and starting combat. Kill Johnathon asap while you start a global fire to deal with the oil voidwoken below and keep the young mage alive with heals and buffs, he tends to stay up there, although he does also have suicidal tendencies so keep a close eye on his condition. Johnathoins adds may or may not be of assistance to you - they might attack you or they might get tied up with the voidwoken. If they are fightijng voidwoken leave them to it. There is one archer which you should probably teleport up onto the platform and dispatch forthwith, he can be a nuisance.

You can create ice etc by casting Bless on the necro fire then Rain then Global Cooling or Winter Blast etc on a suitable area of the platforms. This is the secret to the big fire voidwoken - they must be separated from fire to stop them healing in it and introduced to ice which they don't like. They don't like it at all.

OK. Never heard of that one before I guess.

you can avoid this entire annoying fight by teleporting Gwydian off of the scaffold to a point near the vine wall ( NW I think ) the whole dialogue between him and the white magister still happens though, funny glitch.
