Coop with only 2 players.
Hey gang,
I know the game can handle up to 4 players and everywhere I've read it's an absolute blast with 3 other friends. My question however is, how does it play if it's only me and my girlfriend playing a 2 person coop game. Who handles the other 2 companions? Does it matter? Is it harder? Is it more/less fun? Do our personal storylines have the same weight?
Thanks for the help.

You can give companions to one of the players(eatch get one be default i think or was it the person who reqruited them)

You can also use lone wolf and ditch the companions all togather.
On a whole i think multiplayer campaign is more fun as your teamate's can give there own comment on things(For example after me and a friend murder some voidwoken on the beatch at forst joy we both commented they where little more then animals to be killed(dialog choice 3)
Also i find the game more fun when i dont control my allies.
It create's many facepalm moments and moments of awesomeness.

I suggest you both take lone wolves and play togather.

If you both play together, you'll both be able to have two companions each (as far as I'm aware, it might just be one each to reach the party limit of 4). And yes, both of your personal storylines will have weight with each-other and there are times when both your characters will talk to eachother about certain story events.

My tip though; just have it be you and your GF, and don't both with companions. If you both take Lone Wolf you'll blitz through the game with no issue anyway.

As other people said. If you both go lone wolf you shouldnt have much problem with only two people.

Oh wow thanks for the Lone Wolf reco. I find it a chore to play with NPCs in the party when you are playing a coop campaign. So we will play with that.

Hi,

you can play just with two characters, you and your girlfriend, but then i suggest take Lone Wolf perk. Honestly Im playing with my friend and we are just two playing tactician mode with Lone Wolf perk and its really eassy (suprised)... And summoner class is very overpowered, its like no fun at all. But if you want play with 4 characters you can. You will choose in Party management (ESC - Party management) to choose who will control each character. Difficulty depends on your build, difficulty and so on... You will have fun, no matter what you will do, and co-op making it much more funny. Story there is different if you pick Origin or Custom character... Origin characters have some personal story too, but you can pick two custom characters at beginning and then you can hire as companions other two, but it depends how you want to play (2 characters or 4 etc...). By the way, you can pick as companions in game (if you are already playing) only origin characters. Yes you can get them, then you can leave them if you dont want them anymore, but be aware that it will not be possible all game, that you can leaving them and getting them when you need, what I know.
