Undead in towns
Why do I never have to use a mask or even hide my face, I can just run around doing pretty much whatever I want and nobody cares, I thought the idea was to blend in?

Apart from a few advantages from looking like a specific race for certain conversations there seems to be no downside at all to been undead in towns, everyone quite happily talks to me and I have had zero issue, infact combat is easier as undead too with the poison healing. atleast in my experience.

What do you mean? If I take any part of Fane's armor off and they see him, everyone attacks him. If you have all your amor slots equipped, people won't realize you're undead, and will instead think you're whatever race your skeletonman is. (Maybe you have your helmet slot as hidden? It still counts as if you're hiding your face.)

Enemies can target your undead with healing spells tho, which can deal quite a bit of damage since you only heal with poison.

are you sure you dont have a hidden helmet? when I played undead everyone ran away and the guards attacked me.

im assuming OP is running with an helmet on and thinking that people would see the character is undead regardless, the npc's will see it if you have nohing in the helmet slot

Not able to try right now, but do any helmets hide an Undead's nature?

I assumed it was just helms and hats that covered the face but I never tried just a normal hat.

thats tells literally nothing
you might have a hood equipped completely hiding the face
but have helmet visuals disabled cause you think it looks like hot garbage

The problem is the armor for undead does not "look" like it hides their appearance is any way. It's bad design. Fane looks great at the start but as "upgrade" his gear he no longer looks to be covered.

Undead armor should have been desigend to always appear to cover them. One exampe is an undead elf with "skull cap" which is looks like a skeleton with a feather on its head.

Yeah I agree, hoods, helmets and hats should allow you to walk through town. But talking to someone should require a mask.

Yeah, i'm late on this one but,.. if you remove your mask or put on a hood that doesn't cover your face, playing as Undead race, the gaurds will attack you. Just looking at that picture, you can clearly tell you have clicked the "check" box to make the head gear dissappear while in 3rd person view. I too have a playthrough of Undead race, I play as a Undead Wizard that uses a 2hander weapon not a staff, reason is because the 2hander Weapon I got gives 20% Crit Chance.

Also, you can find that 2hander during the storyline. Pretty OP weapon, found it first on my ELF (Fighter/Necro) playthrough.

in the screenshot he lacks the Veiled Undead status, so his "hide helmet" isn't whats doing it. you can clearly see the Leadership and Source Muted statuses

Except you can clearly see that he lacks the "Veiled Undead" status. you can see the Leadership and Source muted status in the screen shot but not Veiled Undead so it isn't a hidden helm
