Class ranking?
What would your top strongest classes be?
I think Wizard and Rogue are both very overpowered at the moment.

Summoner > Rogue > Everything else.

Classes are largely irrelevant because any class can take any skills. Some skills do get modified by class though, for example an Enchantress using Huntsmen skills will deal air damage instead of physical damage and will get bonuses from intelligence instead of finesse, or a Wizard using Warfare skills will deal poison damage and get bonuses from intelligence instead of strength.

summoner seems to be really strong which is nice compared to early access where it was horrible but the lone wolf perk makes it op for act 1 as you can get the level 10 summoning quite quickly.

From my point of view:

In order:
  1. Summoner:
Have minnions to take damage for you, can get a spell&effect damage type on minnion depend on where it is summoned.
Can spam turrets for free dps(it adds up).

  2. Water wizard:
    Restoration, rain and freezing.
Aka healing, removing of bad stuff and crow control all roled into one neat little package.

  3. Air wizard:
    Teleport, blinding, shock.
While not as good as water wizard it works wonders when us in combination with water magic.

  4. Earth wizard:
Oil, increase armor, decent attack spells.
Not as good as water or air but decent.

  5. Fire wizard:
    Alot of fire damage.
    Good in combination with oil.
Only reason it isnt the absolute worst is because it has area of effect spells like ignite that hurt enemies without hitting allies.

  6. Necromancer:
Whenever you hurt something vitilaty you get health.
You can create a bloated corpse(bomb minnion) heal by draining blood and cast all kinds of nasties on your enemies.
Works well in combination with retribution.
Reason it is so low is that it is a one trick pony.
Compair to other magic's it just isnt as all around usefull.

  7. Polymorth:
On its own polymorth is worthless.
It strenght comes from its ability to make other classes stronger.
Also extra attribute points are nice.
Can turn enemies into chicken, disarm them and cast invisibility(which is usefull for rogue's)

  8. Hunter:
Does alot of damage to a single target, got the best single heal in the game and can use arrows based on nearby elements.
It is the best of the none magic classes buts its lack of area of effect and pets makes it rather wastefull.

  9. Paladin:
Using restoration in heavy armor and focusing of retribution makes you one tought cookie to kill.
Unfortantly they will ignore you in favor of your squichy teamates.

  10. Rogue:
Rogue are only slighty better then warriors because of there high single target damage.
    Beyond that there basicly warrior's.

  11. Warriors:
    Worthless.
And i am totaly saying this because i am a stuck up elf wizard king.
Honestly i dont see how this class can be of any use.
It waste's points moving to its targets, get shot at alot and only survive because the healer is keeping it alive.
Warriors are really thought to kill but that doesnt really mather when you get stunlocked.

Id agree with this mostly if you only specced one tree and nothing else, but as a rogue you'll take warfare/scoun/poly for the knock downs, stealth and movement skills.
Kotis Sep 21, 2017 @ 4:37am
If you use huntsman and summoning combined you can bring a lot of damage and strong pets to a party
DarkFenix Sep 21, 2017 @ 4:47am
Mages are frankly a bit worse off, they need to spend more AP to achieve the same damage/CC and they can't tank a hit while doing so. Resistances mean your effectiveness is going to be very inconsistent too.

Physical classes can soak up or evade whatever punishment is thrown their way while dishing out consistently high damage for a consistent AP cost. Physical resistance is rare, so you never need worry about specific monsters being resistant to you. Movement isn't an issue, there are a multitude of cheap teleport abilities to get you around the battlefield, and more than one charge/teleport type move to move you AND attack.

Neither is lacking in CC options, while mages stun and freeze, warriors knockdown and disarm. But warriors have the benefit that their CC works first time, whereas mages have to use a combination of two spells to successfully lock down an enemy.

Mages are perfectly viable, but they are mechanically inferior to physical damage dealers this time around.

Playing as 2h warrior with necro for leech and death resist and poly for wings and breaking the game with 3k crits and a total of 13k def stats at lvl 17.

Just stacking wits and str and nearly oneshotting all encounters in tactic mode.

But yeah i guess you need lonewolf to be resistant enough to do that.

Well, i found out that ranger (crossbow) is most powerfull and 2h warrior gets really powerfull towards the end act (start critting for 10k. and have several movement abilities). Also a pyro wizz who speccs into aero is getting really powerfull aoe. With these 3 and a cleric, you can kill anything on 2 rounds.
I'm using a 2 handed warrior-polymorph and it's quite overpowered. Hard to kill, does tons of damage, best mobility and even a bit of summoning.
Bomjus Sep 21, 2017 @ 5:07am
why do you think wizard is overpowered? poison is largely resisted by many enemies, along with earth. and enemies have no physical resistance (usually) so physical is usually better than magic against a large LARGE majority of enemies.

i mostly agree with fonglet, i think it's summoner > rogue > ranger > then everything else.

i'm playing with 4 summoners right now and it's a complete joke. blood rain > buffed blood infused incarnate champions are walking gods. with knockdowns, AoE, taunts, and mosquitoes.

Summoner is just so strong. I have to nerf myself by limiting to only 1 character with that class. 4 summoners pretty much make it a tower defense game.

it is really funny having 4 incarnate champions and then, if the fights even last long enough, 10+ totems i summon on high ground lol

That is a death knight.
I mostly consider pure warriors worthles.
Death knights and paladins are about equile.

Because most wizard spells have area of effect and can hit multiple enemies?
Because setting an entire floot ablaze with oil+fire allow for alot more crowd control?
Also earth and fire are the weakest of the wizard skills and only rank so high because they have area of effect spells.

And yes i know the warrior also get one but that one has limeted range.
