Trying to Save Magister Siwan...
When trying to save Magister Siwan on the ship

You would be too late to escape and the boat will be brought down by the monster.

Does it change anything in the story?

You get 100 xp and some minor treasure if you kill her while she is unconscious. She's questionably evil and works for a corrupt organization that is seeking to wipe your kind from existence.

If you try to save her, you miss an achievement and she dies anyway. There does not appear to be any changes to the game for saving her. You can very easily get the missed achievement on future playthroughs.

Up to you. The 100 xp will not make or break your game. Kill her for the XP, leave her to die, or try to save her (and fail) because its the right thing to do.

Eh, when you actually talk to the Magisters themselves, many of them aren't bad people and they think they are ultimately trying to help you, so if I play as Loshe or Beast I usually try to save her as she isn't really a bad person. Sebiele and Red usually leaves her to die and Fane mercy kills hers when he sees she isn't really savable. Ifan is a tossup between trying to save her (no man left behind) or mercy killing her.

None of my characters kill her "just because" though.

Yeah, but Thane is a bastard and kills anyone and everyone who sees his real face. I took off my mask, and attacked. If they come up with a mask, they want your cash, if they come up without a mask, they coming for your life! :steammocking:

Yeh, it’s only the white magisters (the leadership) that are the bad ones. Regular magisters are just average people. Individually good or bad independent of their faction.

there is loot and such if you kill her (minor) and a bit of a story differance via Story but not much its a minor play at best in this game.
White Magisters are 100% legit evil regular Magisters are just average ppl usoly fanatics however.

His name is FANE, for Seven's sake.

And no, he doesn't. They are the ones who attack HIM, because they're racist towards undead, not the other way around.
