It never ignored the taunt in my case, so this might be a bug. I didn't use it much but if I saw the debuff, it always attacked my tank.
What OP and I have been experiencing is successfully applying taunt on a mob, which bluntly tells you that the mob will be forced to attack you, and yet the mob completely disregards this and acts like the debuff doesn't do anything to them.
It's a pretty useless skill. I'd recommend just keeping your squishies at a distance, especially if it's high ground.
Moral of the story? Fix the skill, devs, and while you're at it make the skill do something else because even while functioning it's crap.
I´d be happy if it worked as intended. Would be worth it.
PS: Guardian angel is the real tanking ability imo, not taunt.
Should have made a reverse "shackles of pain" where the Tank attaches himself to the target, and 50% of damage received is transfered to the Tank instead.
