Taunt does not work
I really wish taunt actually worked in this game, I just cannot figure out how to get a tank character to.. tank.

I put Shackles of Pain + Taunt on a mob and he decided "You know what? Screw your taunt I'm killing your rogue :)".
Just pisses me off, making me waste a res scroll for no good reason. the taunt should've made him forced to attack my tank but noooo let's ignore that debuff and ♥♥♥♥ his rogue up instead.

It's already a crappy skill because you have to get through their armor first which makes no sense to begin with, but if it doesn't even work after that.. WHAT IS THE POINT OF USING IT?

Taunt only works on enemies when they have no physical armor. And tanks are not that useful in the game^^

Tanks are a red herring in this game for the most part, raw damage output seems to be the goal, and 'tanks' without damage aren't terribly useful since the AI is smart enough to recognize them as a non-threat.

I already noted that it only works after armor is gone, but even if you use it after taking down the armor and you put taunt on them, as in I actually see the debuff on the mob, he still ignores the caster and proceeds to kill a companion.

Yeah, taunt is almost useless in DOS2. It should have been a "ignore armour" skill. I'll try and mod that when I finish the game.

It never ignored the taunt in my case, so this might be a bug. I didn't use it much but if I saw the debuff, it always attacked my tank.

I use taunt with my summoner pet. it saved my ass more than once

To the people saying that the target requires there to be no armor for the taunt to be applied, we know that. lol

What OP and I have been experiencing is successfully applying taunt on a mob, which bluntly tells you that the mob will be forced to attack you, and yet the mob completely disregards this and acts like the debuff doesn't do anything to them.

It's a pretty useless skill. I'd recommend just keeping your squishies at a distance, especially if it's high ground.

never happend to me. it always attack the taunter.sounds like a bug for me

It sounds like a glitch or a special circumstance, which means even the useless purpose of a useless skill is...useless.

Moral of the story? Fix the skill, devs, and while you're at it make the skill do something else because even while functioning it's crap.

I am lvl17 now and I have the same experience. Taunt seems to be broken - or the description is wrong.

I´d be happy if it worked as intended. Would be worth it.

In DOS1 this behavior was intended though. Taunt only meant "very high chance". But the wording in DOS2 makes me think it should be guaranteed. But as I said, even if guaranteed, the skill is subpar. It's probably the worst CC in the game.

Yeah it doesn't work on mine either, I taunt to save someones life, and even though the armor is gone and they have the "taunted" debuff, they still ignore and kill the character on the ropes. What's going on?

Tanking is more than viable, you just need another chracter (or three) with enough raw dps in their builds to counter it. Personally I haven't had much issue with Taunt, it generally works for me. That being said, the AI seems to be smart enough to use AoE abilities to hit my other characters if they are nearby.

PS: Guardian angel is the real tanking ability imo, not taunt.

GA's range is too short, they will AoE both of you so the tank will take 150% damage and get demolished.

Should have made a reverse "shackles of pain" where the Tank attaches himself to the target, and 50% of damage received is transfered to the Tank instead.

This happens to me too. Its pretty lame. I do notice that i lose control of a taunted character as a gm. I wonder if it works like charm does.

My guess is they didn't script Shackles of Pain and Provoke correctly. So an AI character that is taunted and shackled will be able to overwrite this and attack something else.
