I searched all over the internet for ways to finish this quest due to the Summer totem being a complete pain. Hopefully I can save some of you the hassle that I went through to find a result. For those people who didn't put any points into pyrokinetic (like me) to use Laser Ray (as stated above), fear not. You can create the laser ray scroll using sheet of paper+high quality fire essence+nails according to the DoS2 wiki. For those of you who don't have a high quality fire essence (like me), there is a wand for sale by a dwarf vendor at Driftwood, he was in between the smelly fish vendor and the enchantress(lady who sells scrolls/skill books). The wand is a named weapon - Chamore Doran - and is only level 9, or I believe that's the level I first came upon it so naturally its stats stayed at level 9. However, the skill that it offers is called "Vaporise" which will make a cloud of most, if not all, elemental surfaces. It requires a level 12 intelligence to use but if you took Loshe, or have a caster in the group, this shouldnt be too hard to come by. Shoot a fire arrow or cast a fire spell on the ground to set it ablaze next to the summer totem, then use the wand skill to make the fire surface into a fire cloud. This SHOULD automatically set the next part of the quest into motion, but be careful because if the wand is equipped when the next stage of the quest begins, you won't be able to change back to your original weapon in combat (at least not for me). Hope this helped, and good luck.

P.S. - The wand was pretty hefty in price for being a one time use, even with a 4 in bartering, so I would assume creating the scroll would be the cheaper option. But if money isnt an object for you, by all means, the wand is the better route than farming around for mats. You can also split one of your party members from the group, fast travel to driftwood square, buy the wand, then pyramid back to the party.
Laser Ray or Vaporize (Aero/Poly crafted spell) a fire surface

Since the patch this has been buggy as hell (just tried it - took 8-10 times to trigger).

Before the patch - once you hit a statue it remained lit. Now you have to hit them all in a specific time limit, which is a pita if your hydro / elec caster is the same person. Oddly enough, the blood statue (spring) remains lit...

So buggy as ****.

As for the lazer ray - by that point (level 14) you should have the unique ring that summons a fire slug (takes a source point however).

One of the traders in Driftwood sells an unique wand with the spell "Vaporise". You can get that one, cast a Fireball or the likes and vaporise the fire for a fire cloud.

I was about to give up on this quest since I play a lone wolf that doesn't use pyrotechnics, but then I saw this comment. Using vaporize from the wand worked! (costed 7000 to buy!)

Thank you.
I found a laser ray scroll in the elven encampment from one of the elves for around 600.

They remain lit as long as the surface you create remains. Blood never goes away, but ice melts, thunder clouds go back to being normal clouds and fire clouds disappear, it's not a bug.

BTW, you can do this with just grenades (except for the spring one, but if you don't have only undeads in your party that shouldn't be a problem); use a frost grenade for the winter one, a smoke+thunderbolt grenade for the autumn totem and a chemical warfare+ firestorm grenade for the summer one (If you create a poison cloud and ignite it, it creates a fire cloud for just a second but if all the other totems are lit, this should work as intended)

So, in the end, you should just need:
-a bleeding boi/blood rain/elf with his race skill
-a frost grenade
-a smoke grenade
-a thudnerbolt grenade
-a chemical warfare grenade
-a firestorm grenade

Hope this helps :)
I always apply the blood surface on the Spring totem first, since blood surfaces don't expire. Then I put a water surface on both the Winter and Autumn totems. Next I create a steam cloud at the Autumn totem by boiling the water surface with fire. Water, blood, and steam don't expire, so we can take our time to prepare the necessary skills/items to light up the rest of the totems.

Now for the tricky part: the firecloud. Three of the most reliable ways to create it are by doing the following:

a.) Laser Ray (easy and straightforward)
b.) Fire surface + Vaporize
c.) Chemical Warfare Grenade + Firestorm grenade

To light up the Winter totem just freeze the water surface with any freezing skill. For the Autumn totem use Dazing Bolt or a Thunderbolt grenade to electrify the steam cloud. For the Summer totem do any of the three ways of making a fire cloud.

Thank you Happy Sunshine! Buying the wand that has includes the Vaporize ability was by far the easiest and most efficient way to get this done for me.

this right here saved me a lot of hassle. I just crafted the laser ray scroll, i love you
Fall = Rain blood or blood sacrifice, you can use the mask of shapeshifitng and turn into an elf for this. Even attacking allies will do the trick consider they loose blood, well the fleshy ones. Or eat a piece of human flesh regardless what race you are it will still leave a puddle of blood.

Winter = Either frost arrow or ice fan (find them here and there) or learn it

Fall = Well the long way which is rain + vaporise then hit with electril discharge to "electrify" the clouds OR buy a shocking cloud arrow (you will find some here and there)

Summer = Laser ray, easy way is to craft it which you need
- paper (find them here and there, mainly in book cases)

- Nails (somewhere in driftwood or paladin bridge, really not paying attention cause they are so
minor)

- High Quality Fire essence, easy way to find them is go in the fish factory basement defeat the
voidwokens in there and they will drop a lot of these essence

Thank you so much, for your help with showing how to make the scroll!
Two thumbs up to SgtHK! I kept doing everything in all the other suggestions, but HK's post helped me realize the ice surface by the winter tree was melting before I could get the fire cloud up.
