Why party limits?
First i like to praise this game for having a classless system(classes are an outdated concept existing to limit us.)

But why stop there.
Party limits make no sense.
There is no reason not to have strenght in numbers.

For that mather why party limits exist in the first place?
This is not a complaint merely a question.

P.s yes i know of the mod that fixes it.

It make sense that you have variability and have a chose.

Because, it prevents you potentially having a simple answer to any solution. It forces the player to react a challenge.

For example, 3 of us are playing and 2 of us are physical damage and 1 is magic. Therefore, when we run into an enemy that has 1.2k+ magic armor it can present a challenge. Same goes when we run into a enemy that might have 2k+ physical armor and low magic armor.

I personally don't find it fun when you literally have the answer to everything without much effort.

No it is something that bother me in alot of games.
Since this game removed the sin of classes i fought it would be best to ask here why the party limeted still existed.

Limit

You've done it multiple times, so I thought I would help you out.
InfernalSkys Sep 19, 2017 @ 11:36pm
There's a mod at the workshop to increase the limit of the party, check it out
D's Journal Sep 19, 2017 @ 11:36pm
Go use the Mod for all companions unlocked then.
Skybane Sep 19, 2017 @ 11:36pm
It is that way for balance and to inspire multiple playthroughs. If you could have an unlimited number of people, then the encounters would have to be huge. It is a lot harder to do huge encounters well than more focused, tight ones.
Holographic Sep 19, 2017 @ 11:37pm
Theres a mod that allwos 6.

Please read the op.
I know of the mod.
This isnt about fix it.
It is about trying to understand why it exist in the first place.
Artifical limets are bad.

First:
You dont have an unlimeted amount of people(in this game you get 6)
Second:
Huge encounters are a problem because?
The game is turn based and has plenty of area of effect spells.
I doubt numbers will do little more then increase the lenght of the game(also known as padding)
Third:
I am asking why the limeted exist in the first place and people keep screaming:
Balance without explaining what they mean with balance.

You accauly dont have a choice.
It would be a choice is you didnt bring someone because you didnt wanted to.
Not because you arent able too.
With these limets i basicly have to leave 2 people behind because of gameplay reasons.
Despite the fact we all want to break out and none of us hate eatchother(ok i have the red lizard for being a slaver but i can always kill him later)

Personaly i dont like being limeted in any way shape or form.
But you do bring up an other much hated problem of games.
The no sell boss.
You know all those debuff's that are worthless against mooks?
They dont work against bosses either.
Making alot of spells and options in games worthless.

I love games but serious these pracecy need to die.

Well fights are balanced for 4 characters. It's just simple as that.

There is a mod removing that restriction tho.
The_K00lDude Sep 19, 2017 @ 11:50pm
theres nothing more to explain than balence, think about it people like to do solo runs.

those wouldnt be possible if the game required the whole army line up + battles feel rewarding when you win

just go get the mod if you feel different, as you cabt say you dont have a choice
Uluairi Sep 19, 2017 @ 11:55pm
Of course the party limit is ok, having a pool of characters to choose from is a basic in many rpg´s. What i don´t like is the way the game has to make you alternate your toons. I mean, this is a highly tactical and difficult game, and preparation and trying different tactics to win battles is the way to play. So... why having to go picking up your teammates from far locations through the map? You waste a lot of time waking around just to change one party member because that encounter requires a ranger better than your rogue. I find it really annoying, and just pointless.
