What is cleave damage?

Some weapons give + cleave damage. what is this? I Can't find it anywhere

It cleaves, damaging everything in an arc in front of you. You'll notice the cleave range indicator when attacking something.

The range is pretty small, on one handers at least.

Basically an arc in front of you. So if you face two enemies right next to each other you will hit both, one will suffer the cleave damage (the one you didnt target).
