Rattus Perfidus
How do you cure Rattus Perfidus of his curse? To be clear, this is the rat inside the tower, not the one outside in the maze.

Bless does not work, nor does water on the ground being shocked. Blood on the ground being shocked also does not work.

The purpose of Perfidious is to make you waste your Source trying to cure him. End of story.

If you have the hero tag, one of the conversation options is suspecting he just wants to die. I think it's Sibella that can make a similar comment after it dies, might have been lohse.

Either way I don't think that one can be saved.
I have the hero tag and savescumed through all of his dialogue. I didn't get the impression he can't be cured. I foudn info on a wiki on how to cure him, but all of those require blood rain to work.. a spell I don't have.

Well, the other mouse named Rattus Verus or something similar, was able of only speaking the truth and wanted to get cured as well. The help they ask is the same with the difference that casting healing magic on Rattus Verus cured him instead of killing him. Which kind of leads me to belive that there's a way to cure Perfidus as well.

In either case, the quest is written poorly if intended.

Or it's a bug. Since the two rats descripe their condition and their cure as the same, and there's no debuff on Perfidus to suggest he'll get damaged when healed, it might very well be a bug.

Was curious about this too. Moved on without succeding.
combine lvl 1 necro + lvl 1 hydro books with G menu
Anyone figured it out ?
Blood Rain did not work. Nor did Blood Rain followed by a shock. Neither killed him though and he is still asking for help.
Used Bloodfire + Bless on him... healed him while using bless while he's not on fire kills him :/
I bet it has todo with Bloodfire + Bless but I can't figure out the missing part.
you can't save him :-p

you don't get anything anyway, just kill it

My theory: he doesn't think magic will cure him at all. He knows it will kill him, and manages to convince you to do so. After all, he's cursed to always lie, and is it really lying if he knows that you know he's lying? Is saying the opposite of what he means really lying if he makes it so clear what he actually means?
...Or it's a bug
It seems like some people in this thread are mixing up the rat and the librarian.

The rat in the interior just wants to die.
Rat outside can be saved. Rat inside can't.

Anyone telling you otherwise is trolling.

Nope, there's a way to do it. Just because you haven't found it doesn't mean it can't happen. Many of the game's potential outcomes aren't documented yet. Even basic, easily confirmed things like the skill list is incomplete on the wiki. It's to be expected that a complex quest that's easy to fail doesn't have its true solution recognized yet.
Calling bull.

Thread after thread of people claiming it is just a joke and impossible trying thing after thing after thing, but the one guy that claims to know the true answer wants people to jump through hoops before giving the information OP asked for in the first place.

Nah brah. Not buyin' it.
You don't need to "buy it". If he knows the answer, so be it. If you tried loads of things and couldn't get the rat to be rescued, that's not our problem nor concern. As he said: Just because you didn't figure it out yet, that doesn't mean there is no solution.

And i can totally understand his point of view. Nobody wants to spoiler anything. If people are aasking for spoilers so be it, i wouldn't give them the exact answer either.

The Game is to beautiful and well made to just spoil everything. Use your damn brain and figure it out yourself. That's why you ahve such a thing inside your head anyways. Ask Fane, he knows!

And now go and tussle with the little rat. Go cure it! There's no fun in "just kill it" just because it doesn't behave like you want it to.

Edit: And IF this is fun to some of you, you really have some problems ;)
