Whats the point of traps in this game?
In Divinity 1, traps were a real pain in the♥♥♥♥♥ some of them (like stun lightning clouds) were unpassable unless you solved the riddle.

In Divinity 2 however, your armor just absorbs everything and you don't have to worry about it. Just walk right through the trap and it will just say "[x] was absorbed by magical armor" and then your armor generates to full 2 seconds later.

In fact, the only difficult with traps and danger zones in this game is having to manually guide each of your party members through them since they won't automatically path through them without assistance.

Hidden traps like explosive bear traps are easily spotted before you even come close to them and you don't even have to dodge them, the game automatically paths you through the safest possible route.

There have been several times in this game where the developers laid out an intricate puzzles of poison, fire, static, explosive, and spike danger zones that have to be solved in order for you to pass but I just push my group forward right through them without even trying. If you take any damage from them (very rare) you just click bedroll right after and heal to full.

The other night I accidentally set off a trap in the blackpit mines. It was one of those ones that trigger across the whole screen and don't go away, instead leaving a permant cursed fire, etc. on the ground because a trap vent keeps refreshing it.

I think I spent a good half hour trying to put it out. I could have just teleported past it, or even just walked through it and healed, and I could have moved on. But I have this thing where I am compelled to clean up the messy terrain after battles or springing traps. I'll never get those 30 minutes back lol.

Your point about traps is well taken though. But with quick loading, even harsh traps wouldn't have much bite ultimately. Seems like the devs opted to make them an annoyance since they would just be worked around anyway.

I use this mod and it helps to bring back the scare of traps even if only a little. That's not what this mod aims at doing but even so I've been stunned in them even with my magic armor.
