Hide & Seek Quest Bug?
I've talked to the children in Driftwood and then found the leg inside the shark. But I can't get the quest to close. Speaking to the children again doesn't do anything.

This quest will only close if you have an elf who can consume the leg. Otherwise you will have it in your questlog till the end, unfortunately

I had fane eat the leg as an elf. But I still have the problem.

Every side quests in this game have multiple stages. I have observed more than once that if we somehow skipped first stage and go straight to the later part; the quest logic breaks and the game failed to understand the whole thing. Hence we cannot complete those quests anymore.

In these situation only remedy I know of will be reloading from past save.

Not sure that I skipped anything. I did get XP when I ate the leg. But talking to the kids again seems to be bugged.

Wait! Fane can be an (undead) elf? Can you alternate the races of origin characters?

I found the leg before I talked to the kids so I don't know if it changes something should you talk to the kids first.

Fane can change into any race at will. You can get Fane's mask of the shapeshifter at Fort Joy by fighting Windego (not sure on the name. The woman who blew up the ship at the start of the game). Face ripper might work too, but I've not used it.

Ooooh! I had the mask and know of that of course, but I did not know that they get the racial bonuses when they turn into a certain race. Is that really the case???

Thought it was just cosmetic!

Yes, they get the racial benefits. He can eat like an elf.

Noooo! If I would have known this earlier!
Did a playthrough with two undead on lonely wolf and skipped all the Elf possibilities, because I never imagined that the mask would grant race bonuses...

Now I know and I will take advantage of that knowledge during my next playthrough so thanks for that! :)
